And the great job he did to get us promoted.

I am sure all true Brighton fans will always hold him in a high regard for what he did for us.
If I saw him in the street I would shake his hand and say thank you to him for all he did.
Not sure how many would do the same with Potter at the moment

I actually met Chris Hughton's wife Cheryl and his daughter Aisha in the aftermath of Easter Monday 2017 against Wigan. Graham Potter doesn't compare at any level to them.

I’ve kind of forgiven Potter (or just forgotten). He’s not that interested in all the stories and rivalries and histories that sit alongside supporting a club. He’s essentially just interested in how teams work and is probably mystified by a fan’s irrational passion. So be it. His loss.

Personally, I’ll just love the panto if he does go to Palace. I think it would be better for him if he did go there. I think ManU would be too high a risk for both parties.

Never got the anti-Potter sentiment. Some on here have short memories. Potter completely transformed the way we played after Hughton very nearly got us relegated playing dire, ultra defensive football, which was awful to watch and didn't work. By the time Potter left (for a bigger club ), we were 4th, scoring for fun, and playing outstanding football. He was he that built that up - something which De Zerbi has benefitted from and taken even further. I really hope he doesn't go to Palace. He's exactly what they need and if it happens, he'll do very well there.

Correct with all - but ‘bigger club’ isn’t always, and wasn’t the right move. Nicking our whole set up, not just immediate coaches, and scouting is the thing that did it. And his attitude after. That is what pissed people off. So whilst what you say is correct, I feel what I say is too - and he acted a bellend - so it’s not short memories…

You say that, “excrement”, but Potter was in the process of turning a defensive team into a more offensive team, it simply is not a ‘click of the fingers’. IMO he managed to keep the best bits of Hughton and add more flair and attacking.

Turning round a playing style is a project and as Ten Haag and countless Everton managers and Forest, have found you can’t just throw money at it, there is a whole path to go on, so actually 3 season feels about right…..

He was lucky at Brighton to have the time, but it paid off.

Potter had an immediate impact. In his first game we won 3-0 away to Watford in the opening game of the season.

At 1-0 up instead of shutting up shop and hoping for the best (Hughton-style) he brought on two strikers and they both scored (Maupay and Andone).

That was the sign of things to come. He transformed us instantly and I loved the majority of his time in charge. Despite the results often not matching the performances. RDZ couldn’t believe his luck walking into to how Potter had left us.

Those that can’t/wont appreciate what he did aren’t worth engaging with.
