[Albion] Potter- what’s he up to? (Managing West Ham from 9 Jan)

Hmmm. Re-united with Potter who he gets on with, Ferguson goes on to score 8 goals for West Ham who finish above Brighton, who, after another injury to Danny Welbeck, struggled for goals for the rest of the season, especially at The Amex. Ferguson says he feels back to his best under Potter's guidance and wants to stay in east London.
really hope we're not relying on Welbeck for goals, who never broke double figures in his career.

Didn't do Jude Bellingham any harm.
No but if the player is very keen as the DM is saying, to play under Potter for the rest of the season, then not much the club can do even if the Bundesliga or Marseille are knocking (although I would have thought RDZ at OM would be a good solution for all sides if it’s management familiarity Evan wants). 🤷‍♂️

Clearly FH keen on another EPL as a placement too as he has already said:

“We know that the Premier League is a very good league to improve, because it’s tough, it’s intense, especially for young players. It’s the perfect environment to adapt.

“In the end, they want to play for Brighton and we want them to play for Brighton. So, when they improve in the environment of the league where we are also playing, it’s always very helpful.

"So, that’s why I am not thinking about making the other teams better, it’s more about what is best for the player.”

Well, apart from the fact that they dominated the opposition and did score in the 2nd half, you're spot on
They didn't though, did they. The graphic I posted was because it was remarkable but the two sides had the same number of shots, shots on target, blocked shots and attempts from outside the box. If you use rounding up and down the xG of each would have ended up 1-1. Both the Villa and West Ham equivalents of @Bozza wouldn't have needed to bother with the 'point gained or two dropped' poll. Each side deserved a point.

This is a difficult one. Ewan did not impress for Eire against England, has not played well under FH and latterly did not play well under DZ. I appreciate he has had injuries but it is now nearly 18 months since he had a really good game. Some comments on here have suggested he might as well not have been on the pitch so little has been his contribution.

There had been enormous media hype about him due to his impressive start.

Just how good is he now/might he be?

I can't see him scoring too many for us this season. He'll take games to get up and running and I would question whether he does have what it takes for the high press etc.

Perhaps he does need a new challenge and would benefit from it. Provided he goes on loan with no option to buy I could understand it. If he starts scoring a few even better, it would confirm we have an asset, his value will rise, he will be more confident. It would surely be win win.

He’s the nearest we have to a traditional centre forward. Unfortunately that doesn’t fit FH’s style. Not sure it’s Potter’s either.

He won’t be fitting anyone’s style as long as he’s perma injured and only capable of playing a few minutes occasionally. As he doesn’t appear to have had a major injury it seems weird how he is nearly always unavailable with one problem after the other. Did he actually have glandular fever or is that just guess work? Even if he did, isn’t the normal recovery within three months. We are talking 18 months here!

Has Milner taken him under his wing? :lolol:
