I'm on the fence with Potter, I would like to know who's decision it was to spend £20m on a CB when we had plenty of credible options rather than bring in another centre forward and then let two forwards we have leave the club, to only have Murray, Maupay and Connolly as options at this level is beyond stupid and will see us relegated.

If these were Potters decisions then he has made some huge errors.

He seems to be shuffling the pack in each game in desperation to find some sort of magic formula, unfortunately he can shuffle all he likes but without better quality options up top it wont make any difference.

Said it weeks ago. He is a Hyppia character. Seems to have lost the players, doesn’t know his best side and killed any morale the squad had.
TB won’t sack him but he will go next year when we are a lower half of the championship team playing in front of 18,000

Fact is we are just as shite, maybe worse than last season now. 2 wins in 17. Chris was binned with 3 in 23. Potter might make that look good. Sorry the bloke is not up to it. Not sure where we go from here. Unlikely to make the 36 points Hughton got last year

I didn’t see Potter missing any of the clear cut chances that should have won the game comfortably today. About time the players showed more responsibility.

Constant tinkering with line up and formation must be affecting morale of players and causing confusion. There's too many lightweight technical players and not enough leaders - as Wilder says we're a soft touch. Poor game management, lack of attention to the basics, and naive tactics have also cost us. We all want him to succeed but it's clear that he's way out of his depth and Hyppia comparison is not far fetched - another manager who had a rather naive and idealistic idea of how to game should be played.

Yes, players missed chances, but that happens at every club. Can’t blame Potter for that.

But nor can we blame bad luck. The last 20 minutes of the game were some of the most depressing I’ve seen at the Amex. There was no drive, no players grabbing the game by the scruff of the neck or driving the team forward. The build up was so slow it was ridiculous and their keeper didn’t have a save to make.

It’s that lack of character in the team that worries me. With the manager not strong enough to galvanise them.

Simeone anyone?

Both Watford and Burnley dropped before coming back up, if it happens it happens. I’d much rather have Potter at the wheel than Dyche or whoever Watford haven’t fired yet.

Potter is the real deal. Is he always making the right decisions? No. But no one is. There's been so many games where we've been the better team and just shat ourselves in either penalty area. The red cards against Saints and Villa. World class saves from Kepa, Reina etc, or that Bournemouth goalie who just had the game of his life. All these one goal losses and draws...

I'm not usually one to say that "luck" or "bad luck" even exist, but no one can say we've been lucky. Not counting the lucky win against Everton you cant say the margins has been on our side.

When Potter gets the sack will you then fook off and support what ever team that has the misfortune to sign him up.

You are not a Brighton fan and post utter shite!

As I posted on the other thread:

Clearly things are bad, and it seems like GP is struggling to keep a lot of you guys on board.

But.

The way I see it, GP is responsible for the team and the tactics, and the frustrating reality is that we play well almost every week, and very well most weeks.

Today was a case in point. If it was boxing and judged on points we win hands down. We created more, we kept the ball more, we were the better side.

The one thing GP cannot do is finish a chance, he can't put the ball in the net, that is up to the players.

Maybe recruitment is an issue, maybe there are other factors around the mentality of the players, but the reality is that everything GP can be held directly responsible for is working.

I was as unhappy with today as anyone else, but not really unhappy with the performance overall. It was individual mistakes and failures on the pitch which cost us, and have been costing us. I can't honestly hold GP entirely responsible for that.

It sounds like you are saying we are too good to go down. The table doesn’t lie though.

It is odd as a Brighton fan of 45 years being lectured by someone who is interested in the personality of the manager and not an actual fan of the club. I am still supportive of Potter, just a bit fed up by constant personnel changes and weak ( physically) performances.

I find it very bizarre to be honest! I think Potter is out of his depth but certainly don’t need to be told things about my club by some strange fella in Sweden that has a man crush on our manager!

.......and thus we glide gently, softly, unimaginatťively, unprotestingly and almost willingly but attractively into the Chsmpionship, exchanging places with ****ing Leeds never to rise again.....**** that Potter
