10 to go today 2-1 up serious lack of game management from Potter, the subs he made made us weaker in fact. We had a champions league experienced International defender on the bench ffs. Sorry to say this guy will meekly take us down with a pat on the back for having a go at the opposition.

You make one great point there, Veltman like Duffy would see a game out, White, is inexperienced and blows hot & cold, that was an obvious option. Gross on for Trossard would have made more sense too. Had to leave one striker on, although TBH the AJ sub was way too late to make any difference.

Poor management IMO.

Yes but if he hasn't got the funds to spend what then?

I’m hanging my hat on Tau and Moder joining. Can’t see us forking out substantially unless we need to replace Bissouma / White / Lamptey or anyone else tempted to go elsewhere.

Agree that Veltman is quality and maybe he could have come on but overall the defence looked solid bar their second which was a mistake by Dunk and White. Potter’s subs were defensive in that he was trying to control the midfield and see out the game. How is out playing West Ham meek? Bissouma bossed that midfield today.

So we know the PL is a constantly moving evolving target, if you stand still, you get steamrollered . . . . We made a managerial change and improved our style, but not our results. . . . We made some significant investments which, arguably, have not paid dividents, but also some relative bargains. . . This year has been extremely strange, but the same for everyone else in the PL. IF we sign a few players, great . . .they may help no end, could be duffers. . .IF Not, due to funding, as you allude to I tihnk GP has 2 options.

1: continue with Project Disco Pottinker style, and more than likely go down.
2: Adopt a Big Sam approach of playing the right football to get the right result on the day, in order to stay up and then take stock.

1 I s a massive financial gamble I don't think TB can afford to risk ( but none of us know )
2: is a massive gamble because I don't think GP has the nous experience or charisma to rally his players in that way.

Time will tell

And yet the bookies don’t agree, unless they think we’re about to sack our manager and bring Big Sam in...

Decent result today, yeah; decent enough... on paper, oh yes. ...

(defending aside.)

Their two goals were so, so bad (park level defending - especially the 2-2, from White - abysmal) from our point of view, it’s best I say nothing more...

Pah:

More (of the same) lessons to learn (again)

More fundamental coaching to do (again)

Hmmmmmm

Rinse and repeat, week after week.

Whilst I think Potter will take us down I despair at how horrifically unbalanced our squad has become through our recruitment. Ridiculous number of Centre backs getting shoe horned in anywhere, ridiculous number of centre mids and CAMs with tons of them about the same ability and therefore no one getting consistent games. The result some of the best quality youth we’ve ever had stifled (Alzate, Molumby). A roulette for who plays or comes in as sub between Ali, Gross, Trossard, Macallister. I couldn’t even come close to saying which is better (it’s not Gross though) and I don’t think Potter knows either. And then we bring in Sick note. We’ve even now got another Polish lad joining the party too.

All that and then no decent strikers, barely any width, not one premier league quality Left back. Clearly Potter not sure who’s the best options when no Lamptey. I do actually think relegation would at least wash out the surplus and give us a very good nucleus of youth to build from.

Usually the defence of Potter is that we created chances which weren't taken, and the players were to blame. Personally I don't agree with this - I think the formation is the problem. And that's the manager's fault.Today we did not play well, West Ham were worse, but we did not play well. Gary Neville in commentary expects so little of us that he decided an impotent first half, bereft of chances created, constituted a good performance.

The only thing I’m interpreting from this poll is Brighton fans never want more than 4 consecutive seasons in the top league. Fair enough

First paragraph spot on. Second one less so.
