I reckon Boehly's own pride is the only thing keeping Potter in a job at this point. Sack him and he admits an almighty f***-up. Objectively it really wouldn't be that odd for any of the so-called 'Big Six' to sack a boss with his current stats. Sure, there's the argument that Klopp and Guardiola were cut some slack - but they had a much more proven track record to fall back on. I've got nothing against the bloke at all. Did a fantastic job developing our style of play which RDZ seems to be building upon - but so far he has simply not shown himself to be matching up to the expectations of a perennial European qualifier.
If they bring in 5 expensive first teamers in this window, highly rated names, and make 4th ….. does that mean that Potter has done an exceptional job this season?

Yes probably. They lost a few key players in the summer, didn’t really sign much quality either.

Eventually Boehly listened and gave him what he wanted, which was a bunch of aging troublemakers who haven't done anything useful all season.

As you've repeatedly said Tony Bloom is shit and Graham Potter is shit, but that really doesn't stop Tommy the German from also being at least partially shit.
Have you ever considered though that the possibility Graham Potter might not be the future champions league winning genius that you think he is?

Honestly, I think if you stuck Pochettino or someone of his ilk in there tomorrow, he would be getting more of a tune out of those players. Potter is a long term project boss. Chelsea is not a long term project club and, if they really want to be, I'd say that transition is going to be painful (and hilarious).

Pochettino the winner, who lost out in the league with PSG - to Lille ? His CV is terrible, should have done better in the season Leicester won the PL, bottled a CL final, lost PSG the title for the first time in 10 years…

And Chelsea aren’t particularly keen on Spurs either

I agree, especially after this latest ongoing shopping spree, gathering Europe’s best.

Nsc is going to really hate The Chavs next summer. A Merseyside journalist is reporting that Caicedo will ultimately join Chelsea.

Undoubtedly. One of those managers would've done three things instantly - commanded respect, made them more solid, played a consistent team. On the last two, Potter hasn't helped himself by being Potter. Why he hasn't played a more consistent team and formation is anyone's guess. (I accept there's being injuries but from what I've seen and read the inconsistency in players and formation has been very Brighton Potter pre Caicedo).

If Potter or the next guy achieve top 4, after spending obscene money that only Qatar, Abu Dhabi or Saudi can match, it really means Jack Shit.

That’s not coaching and man-management of the highest order, alchemy, it really isn’t.

Florentino Perez and Abramovich started all this on industrial levels, then the Gulf states joined the cheating.

UEFA tried their best, but were ultimately beaten by teams of the top law firms engaged by Citeh.
Yes yes! - exactly the point I made earlier and that most of us have been saying for years isn’t it ?- why most of us really loathe what the silly-sheik money and the mega-multi-billionaires are doing to football blah blah etc etc and why (as I’ve also said previously) top clubs might as well have gone ahead with the Super League because this is just Super League by stealth. Loathe Newcastle for doing the same thing -tbh - however Potter wants to dress it up - it still looks like buying pre-fabs to fill plots on a housing estate to me rather than constructing anything from the foundations up. A job that doesn’t (at least in the immediate future) require a team of builders like our coach, entire back room staff and talented recruitment director. But that’s the reality and it sucks imo.

The one thing in our favour is that all things Brighton may be so tainted in the Chelsea fans' eyes that it keeps them away from coming back for more. Caicedo/Mac etc could be written off by association as good enough for little old Albion but not the mighty Blues. If/when they go, I'd like it to be a really big hitter abroad.

Caicedo will not be joining a team that aren't in the CL. Not a chance.

I've watched his work closely for six years and he's been highly successful everywhere. Whether or not that will result in a CL win some day.. no idea.

Indeed, that Pochettino. The bloke who had the only horse in a one-horse race... and came second.
