Potter has zero experience of managing superstar players or a major team in Europe, and the huge expecatations that brings.

Would be a massive gamble for United and him. No chance, imo.

I would agree with that, but it would be the “with a commitment to build over 4-5 transfer windows” which would be the key factor rather than instant results.

I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of that is because the performances relative to the resources at his disposal are pretty good (certainly undeserving of boos). He gets frustrated that some fans can’t see that we are doing well, relative to the playing budget.

If a manager can’t get a tune out of a squad backed by the resources at Man U (and given a reasonable amount of time), it could be considered more fair game to boo (though I’m not really one to boo my own side/player/manager/chairman/whatever, with the obvious exception of Archer, Bellotti et al)

The next Man Utd manager's first job would be to deal with the proliferation of billy big bollocks at the club. Is GP the man to do that? As BNthree points out he does seem to be a fairly sensitive soul and would he cut the mustard is dealing with all those egos? I'm not sure he would. Needs a Roy Keane type character to sort them out as they have descended into being a basketcase club (which I am greatly enjoying watching!!)

I think you'll find that the vast majority of England fans are ecstatic at reaching a final and a semi final in the last two tournaments. It is seen as success not failure.

Personally I think he's a one trick pony with zero ability to change things around but he's doing a fantastic job for most England fans
