This, and in fairness to TB etc I think they believed they had landed Nunez (who has turned out to be an Eeyore anyway) and had nowhere else to go. The game in summer will be to realise some cash from White and Biss, and invest upfront.

MAy be some truth to that but we are constantly told we have numerous targets to back up ones we dont land. On top of which if we are in Championship, losing Biss and White will be least of our problems - as others head for the exit door and we then wont need a striker- pretty sure Maupay & co will cope one level down.

Which will all go to show that not spending the money on a striker in last two seasons will have been a massive false economy. A lot more than £40m plus wages will be lost. But hey its not my money.

With the number of chances we are creating, in still. If we were not creating that is the time to start panicking.

One of the last three games, with 66 chances created in total, could've been a cricket score if the planets had aligned and they had dropped in.

But surely our results reflect our quality of performances. I’m not talking about today as such, but we’ve played 26 games now, we’re 16th with 26 points!
It’s hard to analyse each game but when you’ve played 26 games and we’re still making the same mistakes you have to worry.
All people keep saying is either the team isn’t good enough, or the strikers aren’t good enough, but when I look around the league table there’s plenty of squads/teams that’s have more points than us so something doesn’t quite add up?
I would question, how many players this year have really improved under Potter?

The quality of our squad and our playing budget probably means we're placed where we should be in the table. Our performances have promised much, much more thus raising expectations.

I'd argue that Potter has improved Bissouma, Gross, Burn and Dunk has continued to improve.

I think I'm just a bit more pragmatic about our position based on our performances and the fine margins which leave us in this situation, had we drawn our last two this board would still be echoing with cries of top 10 next season add the fact Fulham have improved toys are being thrown out of the pram.

Pure and simply down to budget I really couldn’t believe our summer recruitment, we needed two positions a striker and a left wing back neither arrived and I don’t mean turd like Welbeck. Instead we wasted £20 odd million on prospects they could of waited until the first team was done and dusted. £10m on the Poles, £4m on the Swiss kid, £4m on Moses for what when we can’t hit a barn door.

Potter has to change tactic with the players. There’s only so long you can say unlucky, and you can see how the team reacted at the start of this game. Not at our best.

Get them in the changing room and forcefully tell them our attacking play needs to be better and players need to work even harder. If they want their goals they’re gonna have to do more.

Before this week I would have said that his fate depends on whether we stay up or not. However, after the recent death slide and the fact we cannot change the players perhaps the only way to survive is to change the manager. His deadpan expression , complete lack of emotion is not that which is needed in this dog fight. So reluctantly I am voting out today.

I’m not sure if he deserves a third season in charge of this club. I will decide on how many points and wins we end up with. In for now though.

Not sure we need to say anymore, this is not a Potter issue and we are lucky to have him.

I guess this means that with good manager they can put you on the pitch and win all the games?

Or maybe the players are involved in results, good and bad.

It’s all about motivation and how you manage it off the pitch. This team looks shot to bits and given Potters degrees and education in this field we should be doing better in this field.

Rightly or wrongly whatever happened around the Spurs game has destroyed Maupay season.

You can shoot from anywhere and have it count as a stat. And we do.

I would say 95% of shots are in the area.

You have to admit they are impressive stats for little old Brighton.

How would you coach those pens today?

You can't coach penalties once the game has started.

You can have a confident nominated penalty taker in your starting XI. Look at Bruno Fernandes. You may say out of our league, to which I'd say look at Jedinak and Mooy's penalty stats. You know ours are going to miss when they run up. And mental well being is something that Potter was supposed to be good at.
