So if you take a proper look at the table we are only 3 points above Fulham due to fact we have won more game 5 in 26.

Everyone has been saying Fulham are doomed and we play such great Football that most of you clowns on here think Potter is the messiah.

This is the facts we are in serious danger of going down and the quicker the deluded fools realise Potter needs to be got rid of asap the better chance we have of staying up

No passion, no fight, no clue and no idea totaly clueless but you can carry on making excuses.

And to add Fulham did something about their striker options in January whilst we sat on our hands again.

Would this be the same Fulham who have scored 8 league goals since the turn of the year, compared to Brighton’s miserly total of 8 - oh, hang on, we’ve scored the same number of goals, can’t be right surely?

...... Agree - which is why we won’t ever be a top club. Far too many of our supporters, accept mediocrity & lack the passion of a big club. Newcastle are in a similar predicament to us, but most of their fans want & expect better.. 1 home win this season is reason enough for Potter to go. Absolutely diabolical. I suppose because we have been in the third tier for most of the clubs history many are still ingrained in that. The bottom line is - Potter was bought on the cheap, will settle for what he’s been given - whilst most knew it would be another struggle without forward improvements. Sanchez Webster & Lampty are the big plus points, so not all bad. However - if we don’t go down this year, we’ll surely do so next year without proper investment

Voted in. And will keep doing so

Getting any sort of top level side to create chances at the rate we do is extremely difficult and he deserves a lot of credit for that, the next step has to be better recruitment to find someone to stick the ball in the net.

Well it’s worked for them they could over take us is the reality.

What a strange thread. 80% vote 'Potter in' and yet the noisy outers just can't shut up. Bombadier Beaumonts, the lot of you :lolol:

I take that as a huge plus, of a largely analytical, cerebral fanbase, who understand that Potter’s having to work with a squad with a major flaw (strikers).

Other than SheffU fans who similarly are staying loyal to Wilder, I think this ‘seeing the big picture’ understanding is fairly unique.

I don’t think anyone’s denying we’re in danger of going down. But you’re overlooking GP has kept us up last season, so it proves he can do it.

And I’d like to ask again, genuinely interested where you think we should be in the league? Because we are currently there or thereabouts with Newcastle, Saints, Burnley, Palace and the bottom 3, and I think that’s about where we’re expected to be as a club.

I still think we’ll be alright, but if you’re confident enough, put a few quid on us going down.. you’ll get good odds.

It’s a huge comfort the majority of NSC have been fully behind the manager pretty much all season and can see he’s doing the best he can with the players he has [emoji106]

Apologies if I missed it, but does anybody know if Potter's Swansea or Ostersunds sides missed an unusually high proportion of chances?

Great question. Swanny?

...and did they overcome it?

Was decent in the Championship, with Oli McBurnie being one of the most efficient strikers in the league - converting 57% of big chances compared to league average of 40% - and Wayne Routledge also quite clinical. But the Oli backup, a bloke they signed from sixth tier side Leamington, was a bit shit to say the least and some of the young blokes like Dan James and Bersant Celina only converted ca 20% of big chances. So it was a bit of both really. Some better than you would expect, some worse.

The squad had a lot of unproven players who in some cases turned out very nice and in some cases turned out to be pretty shit. I cant find any way to compare the xG of the first half of the season to the other half, but what I do know is that Swansea scored a lot more goals in the spring when Potter had gathered an understanding of his squad and started to use less players.

In the case of McBurnies efficiency, I could use it as proof that strikers can be effective under Potter. But it needs to be said its only half of the truth. A huge part of McBurnie being efficient came down to Dan James and/or Wayne Routledge/Nathan Dyer drawing a lot of attention on the wings. There were multiple threats and the fact that there were mulitple ones also improved the performance (and xG) of each one.

Östersund, always high in xG, sometimes efficient, sometimes not. ÖFK didnt get to keep their most efficient players. Modou Barrow played half a season and got bought by Swansea. David Accam played half a season and got bought by Helsingborg. In the well-known EL season, they had one of the most inefficient strikers in Allsvenskan (Alhaji Gero) which affected overall xG effectiveness, but with him present wingers and attacking midfielders like Saman Ghoddos (now in Brentford) and Ken Sema (now in Watford) started to produce a lot of goals.

In all cases, perhaps a better xG than goal production, but nowhere near the current situation.

HIs Swansea team had the same problem with conceding from set pieces.

Yup, Swansea had issues dealing with set pieces. Brighton are mid-table when it comes to conceding from set pieces. In both of the events the team conceded much less with a keeper with decent aerial ability (Mulder & Sanchez) compared to keepers hopeless in that regard (Nordfeldt & Ryan).

Out

A tactician he may be but lacks man management skills , players confidence and morale are rock bottom , and he doesnt appear to have power to reverse that.
Yesterdays forward line was not premier league quality
Maupay , Trossard are championship players at best.
Connoly and Mac are league 1 at best.

Substitutions are always the wrong choice , and they never come out second half showing improvement , no fire no passion.
Lots of nice passing moves in the middle of the park is not going to keep us up .

So he can go for me , and take Ashworth with him , been a slow but steady decline in team performance since his arrival,
What does he actually do ?

ID give Lampard the job till end of season then if we stay up give him the gig,

Lampard?! [emoji23] [emoji23]

I can’t decide if this is a serious post or not?! If it is, oh dear!

Thanks for all that. Following the logic of the bit I've quoted, do you know if our performance against xG is notably worse in matches without March and/or Lamptey? Feel free to ignore that if it's a pain to look up. I know I can't be bothered to look myself.

I will tomorrow as I've just watched some highlights from the first couple of games this season.

You really think TB sits back in his chair and thinks everything’s cool I’m happy with one home win and three points off relegation after four seasons in the PL because as a club I can’t expect much more? Deluded if you do.

My post was exactly ONE post in front of yours. I'm Potter in, and yet gave you in detail the reasons why. "The messiah"? Where do you get this drivel from? The only clown here is you because it's quite obvious you don't actually read what others are saying, you just write them off as "clowns" simply because they're not acting like stroppy toddlers now that results have gone against us.

Whatever TB decides is fine with me. And right now, there is no evidence to suggest he doesn't believe in the manager.
