The SAME players each game except for 1 change which was Bissouma for Burn.

I’ll stick my neck out and explain myself!

It took me a while to come off the fence over Christmas and think that Potter should go when a suitable replacement comes along. I said a couple of games ago that to get me back on that fence in the short term would be 6 points against Leeds and Fulham, and in the long term a points tally that at least rivals last year’s.

We didn’t beat Fulham, and thus swinging to IN solely based off of tonight would be as knee-jerk as those who’d swing out if we get beaten 4-0 by Liverpool this week. I also can’t remember feeling as irritable as an Albion fan as I did waking up on Thursday morning. In short, beating Tottenham won’t live long in the memory if we continue the trend of not being able to beat the teams around us (especially at home) and end up with our lowest PL points record.

However, that aside, I’m absolutely delighted for GP and the players with tonight’s win and there’s plenty of reasons to think we could be turning a corner, including the return of our defensive grit, the rise of Ali Mac and simply the fact that Leeds and tonight shows me that we can win a game of football! Long may this continue into February and I can hop back on the fence, shorty followed by jumping back IN with the Potter lovers!

At least you explain your opinion which is fine. I woke up after Fulham pretty content as it seemed a different kind of performance with mush more purposeful attacking. And we have been brilliant since HT v wolves at the back - 1 goal conceded in 4.5 games in the prem - and that to the top side away from outside the area...! I think the fans that have been more patient are proving they were right at present.

As has been pointed out, a settled team for the last few games and the players appear to have an understanding of where their teammate is likely to be on the pitch.

Perhaps Potter has seen some sense in what many fans have been calling for?

Tonight also showed why Gross is a key player, Trossard needs to keep up these levels and MacAllister is going to be a firm favourite.

Jury's still out on all our strikers, need to see Maupay stronger at keeping the ball in a tackle (his running & passes were good) and Connolly needs to realise that tapping the ball home is not enough on its own. He knew the defender was there so put your foot through the ball, still learning his trade but this is the top division so it's a steep learning curve for him, hope he makes it to the summit.

I'm not 'Potter out' but I don't think one result, two results or three results will change their mind, nor necessarily should it. The same way that if we get pumped by Liverpool and lost to Burnley, those that are 'Potter in' wouldn't change their mind to 'Out'.

There are some serious problems to address, especially in front of goal. Our defence and midfield can play like Barcelona at times and we still lose to shit sides! We could be playing a local side like Littlehampton and still struggle to score! It needs sorting and to be fair has been a problem well before Potter's era!

Who are these "shit" teams we lose to? Our last two defeats were to Man City and Arsenal, both by the odd goal. Apart from Arsenal (who were in a bit of a false position) we haven't lost to a team in the bottom half of the table all season

It seems churlish not to. There have been threads asking what it would take to change the minds of the outers and my answer was a simple "results plus a win or two at home". We have a home win, we have seven points in the last three league games and undefeated in four. You have to say that turning criteria has been met. (check the public poll results if you like).

This does need to be a turning point though. I remember you and I disagreeing on Ali J. That thread was overrun with people saying "see, I told you so" after Bournemouth and Chelsea but long term he's hardly played and certainly contributed barely anything in terms of EPL goals and assists. I expect him to leave in the summer.

I'm obviously not expecting us to remain undefeated or win every home game for the rest of the season - that would be entitled. But we cannot go back to playing nicely for 45 minutes and then getting found out, conceding silly goals from set pieces or goals in the last minutes of games. I'm still all about results. Keep those coming and anything other than an "in" vote is daft.

As Glenn Murray said in commentary, That's the first time Jose Mourinho has lost away in all 3 initial games against the same opposition in his entire career.

Potter has now beaten him at the Amex twice when he was at Man Utd and last night at Spurs.

I genuinely hope that we now spend a good deal of time agreeing on this. We certainly look better at the back with Sanchez in goal and (controversy alert), Veltman rather than Lamptey at RWB.

No rush to harry Lamptey back but think there is room for both. Veltman cant play every game plus he might have to fill in as CB at somepoint and Lamptey could perhaps play somewhere else as well and probably shouldnt start every game anyway.
