I dont think it really contributed to the loss of form, but I think it may well have contributed to some of his out of character remarks in a couple of press conferences

After such an awful loss not to be able to attend the funeral or go and see her before she died must have had been devastating. To carry on with public press confrences being asked the same old inane questions when all you really want to do is be at home with family and attend your Mums funeral must put a huge strain on him.
