Hyypiä told Finnish media today that he has recommended a list of players, including some Finnish players, to the management. Hyypiä said that he knows Finnish players the best and he knows what kind of mentality they have. He said a goalkeeper and a center-back are priorities but they're looking for 6-7 new players.
Finland's starting goalkeeper Niki Mäenpää was interviewed and he said that he's very interested in Brighton if Hyypiä goes for him. Germany and England are goals for him. A long-time transfer target Tero Mäntylä (center-back, Ludogorets) was also interviewed and he'd also like to join Brighton under Hyypiä if possible.
Hyypiä also said that English clubs are moving towards the German model, where instead of handing out a suitcase of money to the manager and letting him do what he want (England), the managers will start to negotiate with the club management and scouts a lot more when it comes to new signings. Sounds very good, the English model has been unbelievably stupid.
