I think most ex-footy league teams do reasonably well for crowds when pushing for promotion back again, they usually drop back again to normal levels once league status is regained. I think that the Kassam Stadium holds about 12k when full, their away following is pretty good too, they brought about 2k to Forest Green for a Friday night game.

It's only about 20 years since they were in the top flight with Aldridge and Saunders palying for them.

True, mind you it isn't much longer since we were there too, however you would need to be in your late 30's or early 40's plus to have any real memories of those times, many of our supporters (and probably Oxfords) weren't even born then.

I'm not wanting to be a party pooper here but it is a bit misleading to look at these stats in isolation.
For one attendances throughout football have generally risen so this will need to be factored out of the numbers you have given to get a truer reflection of the new stadium effect. Likewise promotion etc.

The first season you'll average 12-15k

second and third season 10-12k

from there on it'll top out at around 7-9k....very similar to what you were getting at the goldstone during the early 90's.

Disagree, attendances in the late 80s/early 90s are not comparable to attendances today for various socio/economic blah reasons that I'm sure someone will post here.
