Early 80's.... game called off at Ipswich.... a good number of us went across to QPR vs Barnsley.... stood in home terrace and caused mayhem when we celebrated a Barnsley goal ( or was it just a corner or something)... escorted along to away end where bemused Barnsley fans welcomed us with good humour.

Got as far as Wigan for that ill-fated Blackburn game where they deliberately flooded the pitch.

Changed trains and there was one back to London around 5 minutes later, which was nice

1990 Boxing day *Bristol Rover* at home should have got abandoned, wettest game i ever remember, pitch was ruined for the season after that one.

Yup. Remember this. Arrived late to find out we was already 1-0 down to an OG I think. Terrible terrible game which was not surprising given the conditions.

I was in the North, the top half from left to right was fullthe bottom half empty, looked really weird as people tried to stay dry.

I was at that. We had the radio on in the car all the way down and it was still on as we drove into Bristol. Got to Eastville to find the ref had just called it off. We turned to go home and bumped into our old gym teacher from Varndean who now lived down there - a good candidate for an unexpected meeting.

I was at Swindon and Norwich too but did manage to miss a postponement in Macclesfield about 20 years ago: I was just about to board the train when a helpful guard shouted that the match was off. Met a Scunny mate and went to see them play Palace in the cup instead.

How about the match that wasn't called off? The game with Torquay in the early 70s. It was announced that it had been snowed off so I didn't go ... found out later that it was on

I was on the Seagulls Special for the Bristol Rovers game and we were told about the postponment at Bristol Parkway where they just turned the train around, so it was a 5-hour round trip without any chance to get off the train.

From a different perspective does anyone remember Cardiff at home in Feb 1985?. The country was in the midst of a deep freeze and it was the only match played, with half the ground closed off. I think that the BBC rushed the cameras down and it was an unscheduled main match feature on MOTD. 1-0 win, Hutchins as I recall.

Away at Halifax in the 90s. Rain and the rugby league game they played on the pitch the night before made it a tad unplayable.
Sauntered over to the park opposite the ground, and amidst the unaware public were Micky and the team warming down. As a curious dog threatened to trip up a passing jogging Bobby Z, m'colleague called out, "Anyone but him!". Cue chuckles from all, and a nice end to a dire wet day.

Ended up at Leeds watching their game v Southampton. Where I bought a tidy BHA badge, oddly.

Blackburn away a few seasons ago, went to Accrington Stanley v Plymouth Argyle instead, stood on the open terraced away end with the Argyle fans. Got absolutely soaked but did help in getting the Accrington keeper sent off.

I did exactly the same, was just about to get off the train when we found out the news and tagged along with some other Albion fans as I was due to meet my old man who was on the coach which was turned around just past Wigan.
