I have to say that is my favourite walk in Sussex, love doing it around March / April on a fresh day.

The first shot (which I took this morning) is from about 400 yards east of Ditchling Beacon with (if I've got this right) Keymer in shot. That's in West Sussex.

This view that I painted quite a few years back, always draws my thoughts back to the seaside.

I also loved a late Victorian watercolour that I saw years ago of a scene painted on the walk from Lewes to Firle. Striking yellows of late August cornfields with green rolling Downland backdrop. I have walked the walk a few times and it is still very much like the water colour.

Then there is the South Downs Way, a truly great walk.

Very similar toTLO's, taken in the 50's from the Dyke but has my old Mum and her dog in the foreground.
