This was my late mother’s favourite. Me being brought up in the 70s to the back drop of Neil Diamond’s fantastic album tracks is my reason for me displaying an over reactionary hatred when I hear Sweet Caroline being destroyed by yobs at sporting events and on coach trips
My mother suffered from Dementia, and found comfort in very familiar things, such as old TV shows and songs. This is the very last song she asked me to find for her on the computer to listen to before she died. It will always remind me of her, and the sheer joy it brought to her, in a very difficult time for us all
Never knew my dad and the photos had all be cut in half when I was old enough to relise.
You don't miss what you didn't have.

My old man had an encyclopedic knowledge of 60s popular music in particular.........there used to be a radio programme on a Sunday lunchtime hosted by Saville where he'd give clues about songs and listeners tried to name the song/artist. Dad would invariably rattle off the answer instantly. His A/T favourite artist.....
