Will people be approached about their preferences i.e. i am probably uncomfortable going at the moment but don't want to loose my season ticket nor would i want to take a slot away from someone who is happy to go the games. I don't think it would be difficult to have a web based system where people register their preference game by game. If you say yes you go into the draw for seats. Same system would have to take some account of friends& family/bubble and keep track of the lucky ones, so if you are successful in game one (get a seat) you are not in the draw next time unless so few people want to attend.

Paul Barber was interviewed about this on Albion Roar a couple of weeks ago. He's part of the Premier League committee looking at it.
some of the factors/things being considered were
Staggered arrivals/departures
How to feed/drink people if you leave them in the bowl for a long time (and avoid the concourse)
Accomodating people in the same household, and kids/parents/grandparents not necessarily in family area.
Temperature checks.
Capacity if a large part of the WSL is used up by the two teams/and staff.
What type of signposting in the concourse / seating blocks / toilets etc.
Arrival by train and car
and also ideas for balloting, sharing tickets etc if/when capacity is severely reduced.

Some of you might have seen the World Snooker Champs this afternoon - one of the test events - hundreds watching Ronnie O Sullivan in the Crucible.

Interesting point which I had completely overlooked.
This raises another potential issue, that if you move fans from their normal area, So WSL closed and central WSL fans moved to NS, is there a partial refund given the difference in seat prices, or is it just a case of you are lucky to get to see a game at the Amex, stop moaning.

Granted, but a few hundred would be far easier to police than several thousand at the football - especially as the average snooker fan is about 80 and probably moves no faster than a snail. A tanked up footy crowd of several thousand I would imagine would be far harder to control.

Practicalities - facemasks on park n ride, what’s to stop pissed or belligerent fans taking them off once on, who’s going to stop them? Crowded loos and concourses. Passing people on aisles.

Why should someone that has held their Amex season ticket for 10 consecutive seasons get priority over me just because I didn’t renew for 15/16? Goldstone, Gillingham, Withdean blah blah....

Because that’s how it works, even though I’m in the same camp. Personally I’m happy with watching on tv for a while. I go to football for the social element more than anything else and This situation is anything but.
I think you have to treat all season ticket holders equally. So if it’s 25% capacity then every season ticket holder gets to go to 1 in 4 games. Although it will probably be 1 in 3 once lack of away fans, no one off ticket sales, fans who don’t want to attend are taken into account.
OT but went from Seaford to Hove yesterday on train, huge disregard for masks and distancing on trains and in stations. I have sympathy for rail staff but I saw absolutely no attempts to have people comply. It's the first time I've used the train in months and I was horrified.
On that evidence expecting anyone to observe whatever protocols are put in place is either hugely naive or simply expected and ignored
I think that it would become difficult to organise tickets if you allowed fans to bid for games. All STHs bought their ticket to attend every game under normal circumstances so everyone should be offered a ticket for every 3rd/4th game and get a refund for the other games. It is unreasonable to expect the club to allocate tickets to those in your group unless it is the same household. They should also encourage driving to games by giving free pre-booked parking. They should also fill each car park, including the aisles, as that will stop people leaving early for a quick get away as they will be boxed in.

Unlikely for the whole of next season. Ever changing local lockdowns would make the risk not worth taking for the PL. For example, at the moment, it is unlikely many local authorities would be keen on the arrival of 1000 people from Manchester and nearby areas.

I'm quite happy to sit out the season and not go at all this year, but I do want to retain my seat for when normality properly returns.
