That Potter has now seen how important Bissouma is to us in that central midfield role.

No more messing around with him out of position like he started today out left or on the bench, he’s our best player and if fit, he needs to start every game in that central position. We can build the rest of the midfield and team around him.

Absolutely agree. He is second on the team sheet for me.

Interestingly i thought Potter set up well tactically first half.
The shape was right and the problem wasnt tactical, it was the players execution. The low block wasnt aggressive enough defensively and when the ball was won we were very poor in transition and sloppy which invited more pressure.

I liked it on paper as well tbh and my biggest issue was also the execution, The idea of having Lamptey both helping Montoya and be the target for counter attacks was great in theory. However, placing Bissouma on the left side was a mistake - sure, I understand the idea: Potter quite rightfully worried about Burn getting murdered by Greenwood and Wan-Bissaka but I think it would have been wiser to start March instead of i.e. Macallister and keep Bissouma centrally since Pröpper & Stephens had absolutely zero chance against their central midfield.

I started a chant of we're going to win 4-3 albeit without too much belief, but the positive we didn't concede more than 3, as I could see the Bournemouth home defeat being surpassed by a few at one stage.

Still not in the bottom 3

Any other positives?

We’re 4 points better off than I thought we’d be after the opening 3 fixtures of the re-start.
Norwich game was always gonna be huge, but now....if we win, we’re virtually safe

No real positives can be taken from a 3 nil home defeat. We were poor tonight. Play like that against Norwich and the bottom side will also turn us over. Carrow Road isn’t exactly a happy hunting ground for the Albion either. We need to move on but right now my biggest concern is another oddball Potterball team selection that implodes from the KO again on Sat. He makes Ranieri look decisive. #Tinkerball

Brighton factually.....
Apart from no red cards or injuries, none really

odd team selection, Lacklustre display, moral deflating....

Norwich will take heart in our performance and think they will have a decent chance, Potter is obviously a better manager than me, so I hope this game gives them false hope, and we will unleash the real fight...

Roll on Saturday, we have not been schooled by many teams this year, just a shame we have Liverpool and City to come...

If Utd play like they did or were allowed to tonight, in their next 2 games, we’ll be very handily placed ahead of the bottom 3.

Only positives are dunk not being banned, and he continues to start bissouma.

Rest of our midfield needs a huge overhaul. Massive weakness in our side. Ideally keeping bissouma, alzate, macillister and mooy (latter bench only) and getting rid of the rest. And adding one striker to the ranks, like Ashley Barnes if the burnley manager walks out.

If I was Wolves or Chelsea I would be calculating their points total needed based on MU getting 18 pts from their next 6 along with a vastly improved GD.

Their run in would seem easier than Wolves, but if Chelsea win tonight, they are still in the box seat for fourth.

You can add to the list of positives that United had the game won after 50 mins, subbed off Pogba and Fernandes not long after and generally won't have pushed themselves too hard before playing Bournemouth on Saturday.
