I think I saw a United fan in the responses to that asking why March didn't get a red card for choking Garnacho
Yup, worked nicely. I think Lamptey will play more LB than RB for the rest of the season unless we sign something.Might have been mentioned, but it was a great sub choice in bringing Lamptey on at left back for the final 10 mins to use his pace as a way of snuffing out the threat from an equally pacy Diallo. No chance of late goals like in their Southampton game.
Ayari was excellent. We looked solid defensively again for the most part, despite the occasional dodgy bit of playing out from the back in the first half. Only one conceded from open play in our last four.
Ayari, Baleba, Mitoma & Minteh putting in their best displays of the season. Actually, Baleba has probably played better at times, but definitely for the other three.
Clear signs of progression and learning from past mistakes.
More on Bart imo - should have seen Ayari was being closed down from behind and not passed to him.
Anyway, this is the positives thread and he is way, way in credit, including his critical involvement in our second and third goals.
Yes I admit I'm not Ayari's greatest fan however what I know about spotting future talent can be written on Hinshelwood's shin pad ( I didn't rate Gyokeres). However, I will be happy to be proven wrong about Yasin.Would you normally include Ayari in our strongest 11? I thought it had been confirmed that he wasn't good enough for the PL.
Yup. The pass is a little loose but its mainly Ayari at fault (and Diallo having excellent timing and awareness). Calls for the ball before he starts moving and probably gets the pass half a second earlier than he expected. Makes all the difference at this level.Back to this having seen the extended highlights, I've changed my mind and now think it was mostly Ayari's fault. Bart passes to him, because Ayari points in front of himself where he wants to receive the ball. He then jogs a bit too slowly and a bit to the left and Amad sees what's coming so runs past him to steal the ball.
