Another positive - the people who have gone into this thread "positives from today" literally just to have a moan 😂

Genuinely amazing! Thank you for the laugh, you miserable old gits. Honestly, please take a good hard look at yourselves. Too funny 🤣

And thanks for helping us out with spotting who are the palace trolls, bed wetters and people for the ignore list. 💪

There was only one pie left when I visited the upper concourse during the penalty VAR review and it was vegetarian, like me. Result!

Tariq looked very sharp,I mean the Tariq before the nasty injury not just because he scored a belter.

You gotta love Minteh's attitude, he's like a greyhound released from trap 6 and the ball is the bunny.

Most of all I was very intrigued by both Andringas and Lamptey's goal celebrations, they were more akin to telling the moaning fanbase to Stfu than a get in type of celebration.

Any team who plays Villa at their gaff and gets a positive result really shouldn't be that far off it,and we're not, very happy with the result.

(I haven’t seen any of the game yet, bar the TL goal).

Great spirit to come back against the cheatiest of managers/teams.
Fckd up Emery’s game plan (for every game).
Great experience for the younger players.
Yep. The dark arts were on full display until Lamptey scored! Going down for anything, Mings who'd only played about an hour just sits down off the ball as we're getting some momentum, feigning cramp/injury.

They're cheats plain and simple.

Dark arts is being kind, in some instances last night it was plain cheating...which is my main bug bear about the PL these days...

Every single time the ball goes out of play for example, both teams point the other direction....well one of you is right and one of you is wrong, and both of you know who that is....

A very worthy point gained. Tough match, momentum swings for both sides. Dunk was the most impressive he has been for a while, Igor his normal fully committed self, Lamptey excellent and two genuinely good goals. I quite enjoyed the 3 CBs shape - stopped more of the hopeful balls down the channels that have run us ragged in past weeks, and in Kadioglu, March and Estupinan, I think we have better options to come in that left wing-back spot (away from home anyway).

Villa have certainly been the experts on time wasting when visiting the Amex. Bloody hell, Martinez has written a coaching manual on it.

We have been fortunate this season with VAR decisions. Thinking back to Everton’s disallowed penalty, Man Utd’s offside goal, the same with Southampton and Brentford’s chalked off goal last week.
In all three instances, they were caught offside - in two of them, the actual goal-scorer. Nothing at all fortunate, about those manifestly correct decisions.

Agree in general but Mings definitely got injured, could see it in how he moved.
But yeah they're the worst cheaters in the league. I don't think we're very clean either though, there's a lot of falling over not least from our South Americans.

Except they were actually correct decisions - so not really fortunate.
No I wasn't there, I watched it on a screen, bit like our analysts, coaching staff and players normally does (maybe not now due to the hectic schedule) when they want deeper insight to what was going on on the pitch.

I'm not interested in what Aston Villa (or Brighton fans or Troy Deeney or Garth Crooks or Tutankhamun or Boris Johnson or Moder Teresa) "think/feel/find under the couch", I'm interested in how we played (which can only be understood through ignoring the emotional impact from the positive end result) and both the numbers and what I saw indicate that we were poor.

Teams performing at our level yesterday generally lose the game. If we play like yesterday for 38 games, we will lose the vast majority of them. And thats why I see little reason to be overly happy about anything than the nice point.
I think you are wrong. We kept going yesterday - without a hugely noticeable good and bad half split, just normal ebb and flow. If we had played like we did yesterday during the previous six games, we'd have got more than the four points.
