I have finally woken up and realised that I don't need to work 5 days a week any more.
I thought it was the travelling away to games and of course the home games with generally a few beers thrown in.
No idea why today made me finally decide it but I am going to ask work tomorrow to start a 4 day week as soon as I can.
SEAGULLS!

Adingra and Igor were outstanding, Igor's developing mobility and pace due to his RDZ imposed diet :lolol:
And Van Hecke took on the leadership role in Dunk’s absence very impressively. Granted, all against opposition that should have been despatched easily but I agree there are definite progressive signs.

I thought he played very well.

But spotted someone on nsc about an hour ago who though he was dog :shit:

Van Hecke generally played well although he gave the ball away in some dangerous areas, had they scored from there I'm sure he would get pelters.

Igor looks better with each game he plays.

Actually though Dahoud played well until he tired and saw (a deserved) red.

And finally, we held on with 10 men!

We are very frustrating at times. The Fulham game and now this one showed that we take the goal early, have a few chances that should have been put away…fati’s one on one with the keeper and then we revert to type.

we love to show other teams how great we are at passing through the back and get the crowd oooohing and Aaaahing and clapping but teams dig in and realise that we are not deadly in front of goal and they will get chances if they wait! And sure enough in both games, that is what happened.

today Pedro did exactly the same as he did in the Fulham game…great chance just inside the area and belt it over the bar. Mitoma is a brilliant winger but his final ball is lacking.

yes we are missing a whole heap of players, but it is not to mask that we had out today Pedro, Fati, Adringa and Mitoma but still didn’t look like we would score in the second half and certainly after the sending off, we struggled to hold a side who sniffed a result.

yes we got a point but against the bottom side! We have Brentford to come and bloody Burnley which hopefully we will rekick start our league season. Someone mentioned today that our poor league run started after the last international break…let’s hope that can be reversed after the next.

missed opportunity again!

The warm round of applause for Jakub Moder when he warmed in during the first half was nice. But apart from that, not much else in the way of positives.

Actually thought we played really well today. Quick passing and movement. Only grumble is we should have been 2-3 up by the red card. Held on well for a point. Frustrating, but thought given the injuries, we were decent.
I mostly agree with this, but 'really well' is pushing it a little bit. Fati looked knackered/disinterested a lot of the time and there was deffo *something* lacking.

Odd game.

A positive..... We're in the same place on the table as we were after 12 matches last season (same goal difference and one more point). Five of the teams above us, were above us at this point last season. There is still time!

One of van Hecke's best performances. He was terrific, really stepping up in the absence of Dunk. He very much reminds me of a young Dunk - the feeling that there is a ricket in him, but he's still good enough to justify selection. And as he gets more experience, those errors will gradually diminish to being a thing of the past. He's the perfect understudy.

SUFC literally had three players on Mitoma once he got the ball, yet he owned them. A quality team would then exploit that lack of numbers elsewhere.

Moder on the bench.

The rotation policy is starting to pay off.
The make-shift side looked veey comfortable until the red.

Igor
Adingra

Very good
Was going to post something like this. We put out what looked like a Carabao cup side today 68 hours after our last game and in the midst of an injury crisis.
