I think he could learn a lot simply from watching them in action for now.

It might be more beneficial that he’s just got a watching brief for today and is just looking at what the players do well and not so well. He’s can make notes and start planning what he needs to work on in training etc without the pressure (although it’s only a friendly) of managing the side as well.
