Got a BHA one last year, but have this year gone for one with the Middlesex Regiment on it, as family died and fought with them. On showing my wife my purchase, she bought one with the WRAF on for same reason. Good to see links with our family and country heritage.

Being ex RAF I also bought the poppy with the RAF cap badge imposed on it. Something I wear with pride along with my BHA one.

Bought 1 of these for the last 4 years. This year bought 2 after losing the 1st whilst out drunk on my birthday. Got 1 week wear out of the 1st before losing it.

Find it slightly odd that people are buying their football club and poppy as a single badge. Yes a few clubs players died in ww1 but same could be said about anything such were the losses. Sure, we’re proud by association with both and that’s why we probably buy these. I’m not sure the connection is valid though, that’s all. And wonder if it’s not just ‘commercial opportunity’ in the same way a lot of ‘poppy jewellery’ has appeared in recent years and is the meaning being lost amongst fashion accessories? Perhaps. Equally, not sure if the argument ‘at least it’s raising some money towards’ holds water either if the motivation, and actual amount given, is secondary or a small percentage of. Anyway...

My grandfather carried the standard for his RBL Branch for 40 years (I’ve got his framed certificate commemorating this) and my grandmother coordinated the local poppy collection for the same length of time - I asked her view about the ‘branded’ stuff like the BHA badge a few years ago and she said ‘if it means some people buy one when they otherwise wouldn’t contribute that’s good for me’

Available from the small stall at the south east corner of the ground. I got my four with no queuing.
2017 badge was the last present I ever bought my late Daughter.

Tenner in the legion pot and simple paper poppy for me. The occasion demands nothing snazzy.

I struggle with the standard ones. Crushed and lost in a few hours owing to my vigorous and peripatetic lifestyle. This robust option is very welcome. And I won't make the mistake of wearing it all year (a new fad I've noticed lately - akin to an old Italian widow wearing her weeds till her last breath; a bit weird).

But wait, I thought they offended muslims etc etc etc

Are you a Russian bot attempting to influence the general election, or just a very naughty boy? ???

Fairs. Any way one wears their poppy is all good.
