I think its a phsycological thing that people would rather pay £20 than £25!

I agree with the 5 games for £100, that would get people along and they might even stay the rest of the season!!

The only thing would be that it might only attract the people that buy tickets on a week by week basis!!

Wasn't the Gillingham game a sell-out? Because i'm pretty sure it was.

That's a lot of extra faces in the crowd isnt it?

Thats fine as an occasional promo, but the novelty would soon wear off,

but even worse if the prices go too low would be the massive drop in the clubs revenue, a full house would not cover the difference in income, and also could alienate the current season ticket holders, and possibly reduce their numbers, something the club relies on to survive on during the closed season, it could mean having to massively reduce the number of players at the club to balance the books, meaning promotion back to the championship would be even less likely.

You are correct.

I'm not saying we should reduce tickets to £10 for every match.

I just think there is a balance that needs to be struck.

maybe a better way would be to make it easier to buy a season ticket by spreading the cost to monthly payments by direct debit throughtout the season rather than 1 or 3 payments options only.

The club are only able to hold 4 price promotions during a season, but i am sure that next season, they will look to lower prices by as much as they can afford, but i don't thin k we have yet had a season at Withdean where we have broken even or made a profit.

Easy answer sign David Beckham on loan for a month at £50k per week total outlay 4 x 50 = £200k.

4,000 extra tickets at £25 per game for the the 5 home games = £500k,
profit = money spent on Murray:lolol::lolol:

Only minor flaw there (besides the fact that David Beckham wouldn't play for us in a month of Sundays, obviously) is that we don't generally have 5 home games per month.

Isnt he getting something like $100 million for his time in the states, so his team wouldn't want him to play in case he gets injured again, or we getting him for only £50k per week, otherwise a good idea:laugh::laugh:

I think it is loft or gatting whos contract states he has to earn as much as the top paid player :lolol::lolol:

We do in this next month, but seriously I think the best idea I have heard is the one by Guy Fawkes to spread the season ticket overa 12 month period by direct debit the only problem would be if you cancelled the DD, you would still have the tickets which could be used illegally just to get into the stadium and you then look around for an empty seat.

They could post them out monthly too.

The club will probably say that the extra work involved etc would make it not cost effective unless they charged extra like any other HP/Credit Sale.

One answer would be to keep the existing arrangements with a discount, and bring in the extra over 12 months DD at the price of a single ticket X how ever many games, but still giving the priority for high level games.

A small price reduction for next season won't hurt anyone.

And in actual fact it MAY help?

It WILL help I think and hopefully the club will start to look at it (as promised)

The novelty of Withdean has simply worn off.

With game like yesterday, a few years ago the prospect of a hot new striker would have ensured a bigger crowd.

The only conclusion is that it's perceived now as being too expensive.

I've got a season ticket and I think it's probably a fiver too expensive a game.

I was surprised it was so low, but there was a lot of talk on here leading up to the game about the team and the club falling apart, this could easily put people off especially at the ticket prices we have.

the trouble is also perception, but the reality is that it's not that over-priced nowadays, that extra £5 people talk about is not worth that much anymore, you can only gat about a gallon of petrol / diesel, or just over 1.5 pints in a pub, - it reminds me of when you'd used to get pensioners saying "you used to be able to get xyz for hapenny and still have change in my day" or similar.

Hopefully the performance from saturday and the new signings will encourage a few more back

It IS overpriced.

I reckon on average we charge about £6 more than any other club in this division.

That £6 per games can go to tickets for other matches.

You can get a decent seat at some premiership clubs for the same (sometimes less) price as we charge.

Yh but we need the money more than most of the clubs
