Do people really want to see them go out of business? Revelling in another clubs downfall is quite sad really given pompey have thousands of loyal fans who love the club, very sad indeed.

Agree with that. We of all people-the founders of clubs in crisis-should have empathy.

Posters on here do reveal their true characters don't they...and it's not always a prety sight.

Palace and Portsmouth down to the Conference yes-ha ha- but out of business no

1. I don't think that our problems arose directly from spending money we didn't have on transfers and players wages trying to achieve something beyond us.

2. I don't want Palarse or Portsmouth to go out of business.

3. After years of us hugely over-achieving on ridiculously small budgets, trying to remain financially sound while all around seemed to have it in for us, I am rather enjoying being a supporter of the club with the best future in the South.

4. Oh and HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA :laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

No, their website was genuinely down earlier. I tried it and got a "WEBSITE UNAVAILABLE" sign.

Then I laughed like a drain.

Agree with 2,3 and 4, but the real original reason why the likes of Archer were able to get us over a barrel and sell our ground from under us was because Mike Bamber shackled us to expensive players on long term contracts which we couldn't sustain once we were relegated from Div 1. ie he signed us up to something we couldn't afford - a bit like the likes of Pompey and Palarse have been doing more recently. We didn't run to administration though. Not even once, let alone twice.

And now that their site is back up, you'll need something else to laugh like a drain at.

How about THIS for starters:

I agree that the long term contracts made us susceptable to being taken over by an evil twat, but it still took the evil twat to sell the ground, hence the use of "not directly"

Pompey are going to vanish completely at this rate, they've just got zero cash for anything, when a club cant afford to keep its website going you know they are in very deep shit.

How exactly does a drain laugh, just for the purposes of getting a comparison to the noise you were making?

It started out all wheezy, kind of like Muttley, followed by a wet gurgling noise that quickly degnerated into a hacking cough.

From wiki...

As his commitment grew to the club, so too did his range of Portsmouth F.C themed accessories. In 1989 he changed his name, by deed poll, from John Anthony Westwood to John Anthony Portsmouth Football Club Westwood. He currently has more than 60 PFC tatoos, has the club's badge shaved into his head, and 'PFC' engraved on his TEETH.

After he was thrown out of Gillingham F.C.'s Priestfield Stadium in September 2002, one Portsmouth fans website criticised Westwood, describing him as being a "drunk yob".

Westwood is banned from South Coast arch-rivals Southampton's St Mary's Stadium for urinating on seats in the away end.
