It's hard to put into words how much I hate Portsmouth - way more than Palace. I don't mind Saints - would quite like them to go up behind us to be honest.

The depth of my hatred for Pompey should allow 3 or 4 votes

Pompey. Have never enjoyed my trips to Fratton Park, which makes Withdean feel like luxury, horrible atmosphere, even worse walking back to the station, what makes it worse is that a good part of West Sussex supports them. Never really felt any animosity towards SCC till certain of their fans and people like Adkins starting being jealous towards us and Hammond behaved like a prize idiot against us. Nice stadium, good atmosphere usually and a number of my favourite non-Albion players (Shilton, Le Tissier, etc).

Hope you're not including Worthing in that me old mate.

IMO Worthing is more of a hot bed for Albion fans than Brighton itself.

Cant see what all the fuss is about with all this Southampton/Portsmouth hating/liking least thing. Probably eminates from our under 20 year old contributors.

Palace are and always will be where all our hatred should be centred.

Dislike Southmapton for their totally unwarranted arrogance, and David Bobin, but having lived (briefly) in Southsea when I was younger, it just has to be Portsmouth.

Anyone voting Saints has no grasp of the recent history of our club. Pompey were a regular fixture for us through almost all of the the 80's and a good portion of the 90s. We'd always beat them at the Goldstone and they'd almost always beat us at their toilet and there was always needle. I hate them.

This. I only went to one Portsmouth match at the Goldstone, but it was probably the most intimidating atmosphere I've ever experienced. I should think anyone voting for SCC is a youngun'

Portsmouth historically. Have no issue with SOuthampton at all.

But for nothing else, Portsmouth for dumping their debt and then bleating on about the long suffering fans.

Hope we ram them today.

I've got nothing against Southampton, in fact if they weren't in a promotion race with us I would quite like them considering they have 2 of my favourite Brighton players in recent years playing for them (Hammond & Harding).

Pompey on the other hand are scum and I really dont like them at all.

As expected, your hatred for them far outweighs hatred for ours.

Does make me laugh there appears to be some sort of BHA SFC rivalty. Obviously I have interest in the Alb due to my location but to most Saints fans, BHA just arent on the radar.

Up until 18 months ago, we were always a sensible club financialy, guilty only of taking a financial risk by building SMS which depended on PL football to be able to pay the mortgage. This is why we were never really previously hated. Now we actually have investment we are clearly seen as a mini Chelski or Man Shitty so it stands to reason our image has changed.

Most people on here who hate us tend to live in Hampshire but support BHA. Says a lot for me.

Southampton gave the Albion the honour of playing the last game at The Dell on 26th May 2001. We'd already played them (as Brighton United) in the very first game on 3rd September 1898. Would we have afforded them that privilege? I'm not so sure.

As for Portsmouth, I used to see Robbie, one of the old 657, on England trips away about 8-9 years ago. He was a reformed character then and we met up in Malta (friendly), Paris for the 1-1 friendly (the same day Zamora scored a hattrick) and on the train up to the Argentina game in Sapporo during World Cup 2002.

It was in Paris in an Irish bar where he recognised some of the old faces from the firms congregating by the door and told me to leave the beer which I'd had one solitary sip of and get out immediately. To put it in perspective, we'd been looking for this place for a good 2-3 hours and were parched to say the least. I was pretty annoyed, but we started to move to the door. A few seconds later there were chairs flying across the road aimed at a French Immigrant population that was fast assembling on the other side of the road. My very basic French of 'nous departons' did the job with the bouncer on the door and we got out. We left to see to see the shutters coming down on the bar and a number of riot police steaming in arrest in all likelihood all and sundry within. If I'd have stayed, I'd probably have missed the game and spent the night in a French jail. Cheers Robbie.

So personally, it's too tough to call.

Palace on the other hand...

Naturally I really hated Pompey, but now we've beaten them and they have to pay £25000 for that fact, that sort of balanced it out a lot more

Pompey are OK now that Justice has been done to the world of football. Everywhere.
