Pompey away tickets

It was easy enough to get a ticket the last time we played them at Fratton Park. And that was our first game against them in 8 or 9 years, was our first season back in the second tier after a 13 year absence(off the back of two consecutive league titles/promotions) and the 12 consecutive defeats hadn't happened yet(although the game was the 2nd or 3rd game in that sequence iirc).

I don't see why it will be so much harder to get tickets this time round. I don't think the quadrupling of season tickets will have too much of an effect on our away support. After all, fans stayed away from withdean because it was no place to watch football. That wouldn't,or at least shouldn't, have stopped them from going to away games.

The club indicated at the Amex presentation meeting I went to that a points system would be set up based on home and away attendances - details to be announced.

Those who had purchased tickets through the club and had attended all away games last season (Tranmere and Rochdale were not sold in advance) would start off with a 300 point advantage,or something similar.

So those who attended say half the away games last season are not considered?

i went to the pre season tour in belgium in teh 70's , therefore I am a SUPER DOUPER UBER FAN and DEMAND a ticket

I didn't get to the last game at Pompey, because my niece was getting married that day - IN PORTSMOUTH.

I had to share a pew with a bunch of Pompey fans. That qualifies me for compensation ... priority for this game will do.

PS ... there was a helluva lot of excitement as the text messages came through from the match.

It's easy to suggest all 1901 members are going to steal the away tickets but let's also consider there are some (how many I admit don't know... but we'll soon find out) who are already loyal and long term fans. Not everyone taking a 1901 ticket is simply a corporate type or bandwagon jumper by definition - I know this, because I've been a season ticket holder for almost 30 years and have travelled to many an away game disappointment in the cold wet windy conditions of Boundary Park – and I’ve taken a 1901 ticket.

I hope I am considered. I followed the clubs advice and done 14 away games, 11 of which I bought a ticket in advance. My mate only done 4, but he also bought his ticket in advance, thru the club.

The club could not have been clearer over the past year about paying in advance.

Que sera sera...

I'm sure this match may be oversubscribed, but not by that much. All the new STs are not suddenly going to become travelling fans for away match 1, and there will be a lot of holidays booked to avoid Aug 6th, so a number will be away.

I'll put in an application on day 1, as a standard ST, and I reckon I'll be very unlucky not to get a ticket.

I'm only going to grounds that serve our local ale, welcome us with a blue and white theme in the away stand, and put photos of PW and BZ up. Second rate stadia need not bother attracting my custom, let alone 3rd rate such as Fratton!!
