Well maybe the highlight of this thread was looking at some of the names who voted for each, and seeing in the relegated option spence

Not seen since being swept away by Trumps la la land red wave :lolol:

Welcome back Spence

I’m not normally negative but I genuinely believe we are in trouble this year, the lack of goalscorer hasn’t been addressed and we are probably weaker than this time last year. We were in trouble for a fair bit of last season so logically speaking given our profligacy in front of goal still not addressed and Ben White gone, Welbeck injured and Lamptey also out it’s hard to look past us being in a scrap down the bottom.

Really am in the 'no striker, big shit' camp this time. There is always the chance that Maupay might come good and the central midfielders manage to work out where the goal is but without some new blood we are clasping at hope rather than anticipation.

I’m worried that we seem way off it right now, unable to strengthen where we want and laden with injuries. I can see a slow start in games against the teams that are likely to be around us and that might cost us in the long run

I'm caught between the thoughts that the inevitable relegation must follow as we fail to address our goalscoring issues once again or suddenly everything will go in and we will have a flying season aka Leeds last year . Bearing both scales of thought in mind I guess another year of just scraping above three others seems most likely.

I think we would be ok if it was not for our record of injuries we are going to be on a knife edge.
Wellbeck, Lallana, Lamptey, March (that was serious)
I don't think I could bear another frustrating season like the last.
At the moment we are relying on Wellbeck getting fit and staying fit and Maupay hitting the net.
Maybe our points are going to come from very narrow wins and draws with goals scored by defenders and midfielders, again
Not a good situation.
If nothing changes, very close to relegation or actually relegated I am afraid.
6 weeks ago I thought we was going to be solid mid table.

At this stage of the season, the title is always up for grabs.
I won't reset my optimism until the first 10 minutes of the first game.

Unless we can solve our goal scoring problem, I can see us struggling once again.
However, as others have said, let us see if any significant ‘ oven ready’ premier league signings are to be forthcoming or not. We will then be in a better position to forecast our fate.

Need a decent start.

Start badly then think things will become very difficult for us.

Could survive but am a bit concerned we wont.

Still time for a couple of real quality players to arrive

Scrape survival because we're treading water with our current squad (Mwepu a good signing but balanced by losing White), I still don't see how we can improve with our current players beyond what we've managed previously.
