Boris listens to the people, Rashford has more chance of changing things than the Labour opposition.

Speak volumes, Smarmer is almost invisible.

Perhaps Marcus should have gone for leader of the opposition.

Surely that's worth a thumbs up Dave???

Boris admitting how wrong he was - ill-informed and ignorant.

What sort of leader is trumped by a 22-year old professional footballer..... for whom, I have to admit, I have the utmost respect.

Boris's ratings are plummeting in every respect of what he is doing. I saw stuff yesterday from the Spectator - a right wing organ - stating how much the Red Wall constituencies and their voters in the North are horrified at the prospect of a No Deal with Europe and going in with the USA of Donald Trump. On Good Morning Britain this morning someone senior from the Daily Mail, again not noted for its left wing credentials, said that the Government is looking "silly" (his word) over the Rashford U-turn.

The Rt Hon Keir Starmer does not really need to do much at the moment. He could just bide his time while Boris keeps on digging. You may not have noticed that his and his party's approval ratings are rising, while Johnson's are plummeting. Listen to the people? My...… posterior.

You really do have a strange way of looking at the world which, in no small part, follows from what seems a dogmatic commitment to Marxism, and its (at best) questionable claims about social relations and historical understanding. What's worse is that somebody seems to be paying you for producing such views. About the only person I can think of that's daft enough and with access to sufficient money is Len McF*&^INGCluskey.

As to your point about left and right, there's something in it, but there's also a gaping hole. You state that the left want change, but change to what? Can you identify a leftist that is advocating a change to slavery, for instance? And you've cavorted yourself into such a strange position where you're siding with those that are trying to defend the memorialisation of slavers. And as to your other favourite topic, Lexit is an oxymoron, because the vast majority of Brexiters are Rexiters, and they are motivated not by conservatism (conserving what is) but by a reactionary politics, of which Farage is the most articulate exponent.

And all of this explains why you're not cunning, but merely the FergusFairy.

I am merely stating my own view on left and right, this is a political thread, I don’t expect everyone will agree as they wouldn’t on the benefits of Brighton playing 4-4-2 vs 3-5-2. Albeit usually people debating the attributes of either can articulate their points more clearly than you appear able to.

So, let me explain again, if the prevailing definition of a political left (socialism) and right (capitalism) is to be accepted, I am pretty sure the vast majority of the public would regularly trip across the boundaries on that convention subject to the matter being discussed. If most people want to own a house, or more for rental purposes they are evidently on the right, if they consider that the state should be in full control of the NHS or rail, they are on the left. So, for an individual (that believes in both the above) to argue that they are one or the other is at best misleading; they are entitled to believe they are one or the other, but they are being ignorant.

You’re problem in deciphering or digesting this juxtaposition is your own ideological purity which is another way of expressing bigotry. The origins of left (radicalism) and right (conservatism - small c) does not mean radicalism is the property of today’s left. We only need to trip back a few decades to Thatcher to understand that giving people the right to own their council houses and selling off state assets in an orgy of clamouring capitalism to appreciate that point. But then, maybe this was before you were born?

As for trying to suggest I am defending slaver statues, your prejudice is at play once again, I will stand by all that I have stated on this matter, and there is an element radicalism/conservatism to this issue, particularly statues owned by the public. If people want them down, or street names changed then we should have a debate, and people can engage with their elected representatives. Neither the public as per Coulston or Councils should arbitrarily be changing stuff that has existed for decades or centuries without that debate. That will inflame society, and create division, as it has done in Bristol.

In a recent article in the Evening Post on renaming Coulston Hall over 2k comments were made in the paper of which the overwhelming majority requested the new name to be.......drum roll......Coulston Hall. I am not on the side of slavers, and I am not on the side of radicals.

Brexit has its own thread, I will leave my contributions there so not to distract the thread, however the fact that Bob Crow and Tony Benn sought the same outcome as Farage and Rees Mogg, tells you the ideology of leave flipped the boundaries as it does that Thatcher and unions (perhaps under suffrage) were on the same side.

If you had a smidge of the political capacity of your username you would understand.........I suspect you don’t though, when the bell rings you are a drooler.

You and the The Sun would be a perfect match for each other that is for sure.

A teacher openly admitting to it, do you need any more proof?

Perhaps your teacher was not so obvious with their political manipulation of you, just have a think are your beliefs really yours? or were you influenced?

*Please note, not all teachers are like this, but the vast majority are, it's in there nature to be in control.

I have not bought a paper for at least 20 years, because they are all a bunch of drama queens.

I prefer to use commonsense and judgement, this video just backs up what I have always said.

Now get on and mark your book Boldy.

My trouble is that I have always been anti Establishment, anti Left and anti Right. Whoever you vote for, one thing is guaranteed. They will not fundamentally change things. They can't. They are only allowed to tinker around the edges. We get by in this country because of determination and work ethic, not through the efforts of our political leaders. Lions led by Donkeys.
As for Boris, one thing is clear...the man has not been medically fit to be PM, over recent months. He was obviously carrying the virus before lockdown. As we entered lockdown, he was fighting for his life. He supposedly spent about 14 days recovering ( 3-4 months recommended for serious cases...and he was one ) Clearly, he was briefing and being briefed during this period, albeit at home. He then threw himself back into the fray, looking terrible and has been a shadow of himself ever since. Pale, drawn and eyes sunk was not a good image for a PM. Its clear he should have taken 12 weeks off, to recover fully. Was his judgement clouded? We will never know and he will never admit to that.
The government record does not look good over the Covid 19 issue. How many decisions were affected by his own state of mind/health. He was very seriously ill and I don't care what anyone says, it clouds judgement.

Why are you always reduced to questioning emotional rather than cognitive or political consensus? Are you emotionally repressed?

This is utter nonsense. One of the biggest issues Britain had, until it trashed its economy with Brexit and Covid 19, was the continued reforms of education, health (less so), public transport etc. Eg I wish Britain knew which type of education system it wanted and did just tinker around the edges....but it doesn’t.
