Too far from the sun
Let's hope there's no reason for things to get heated. I was planning on taking my kids on the march (aged 9 and 5) but after what I saw of the hunt protest (which to me looked like a mainly peaceful protest hijacked by a few nutters and escalated by the over-reaction of the Met) I am now having serious doubts about taking them. I want to make the point that Falmer is necessary for them to have an Albion to watch but there is only so much I am prepared to take them through to get it.

Mrs Inkerman has worked at the Police College in Bramshill (close to Basingstoke) for about 10 years and reports that she has noticed a marked change over that time in the attitude of the trainees. Nowadays they seem far more excited about the prospect of getting out there and busting a few heads when 10 years ago they wanted to keep law and order.
Of course they would blame this on a change in the changing attitude of the general public.

Absolute garbage, can't speak for Bramshill training centre personally but I disagree totally with that sentiment. If anything it's going the other way, as the police are more than ever held accountable for everything they do, so not only do they have to go by the book, but they have to be seen to do so as well. Obviously some undesirables will get through, but a hell of a lot of the sort of people you refer to are weeded out before they've even got past the application stage.

There have always been idiots in the job, as per any line of employment, but there are also thousands of very decent people, as I'm sure Pig In Stripes would confirm.

Bear in mind also, when you're worried about being twatted on the march, that plenty of Sussex police officers are also Albion fans, who want exactly the same out of the march as we all do....
