I can forgive what sounds like a dire performance as long as we win - and improve as the qualification proceeds, or is that too optimistic?

No, it doesn't. And I wholeheartedly agree with you.

Not sure Rooney has done a single thing in this game yet that he intended

Looking back through the HT highlights I think every single Poland chance came from an England mis-placed pass. Better teams would have punished us for sure.

Dare I say it we're missing the leadership of Terry at the back? I like Jagielka but he looks like a nervous schoolboy at times, my heart is in my mouth every time the opposition are going at him

I don't think the pitch is helping the passing much, looks a bit boggy

Arrr bless the little darlings. The fact is they cant pass on a perfect pitch. How would any of these coped with pitches of yesteryear?

If England are going to sit this deep then they may as well take Defoe off. He can't hold it up and his passing hasn't been good either.

Superb free kick - cock up from Defoe. Really should have put that away

Welbeck is MILES better than Defoe. I don't ever see anything in Defoe that suggests he is good enough to be in the starting line up.

Watched a program on George Best last night, worth watching to see how he coped on 'boggy' pitches.
