tbh i think it will be lower this season. There is a lot of "bigger" clubs in there and i think 45 or 46 will be enough.

The above information leads me to deduce that we should be aiming to accumulate at least one more point than the team that finishes in 22nd position.

Have I cracked it?

Just have a better goal differnce and the same points and I will be happy :D

50 is always the benchmark - 55 and we'll be easily safe

Shouldn't we be thinking about a higher points total, ie 60+

We don't want to be scraping around for points come the end of the season. Rotherham (a) could become a real six pointer and relegation fight IF we are thinking negatively.

Think positive, BE POSITIVE!!!

Sorry for the short lecture.

Well if we don't sign anyone soon, I think in all seriousness that we could be looking at a record low for the division (although Stockport will take some beating).

This is a very hard Div this year, fewer weak teams, and we wern't exactly murdering teams at any point last year.

IMHO of course.

PS ...and Coventry Seagull........ you can think as high as you like, but in the real world it isn't going to happen with the squad we have at the moment.

Apologies to you Somerset, didn't mean to annoy you.

I understand your view point regarding size/quality of our squad compared to most of the teams in this division and I agree with you on this to a degree.

However, to your point re. not murdering teams at ANY time during the season 2002/03, didn't we beat Wolves 4-1 at Withdean - and they got PROMOTED to the Premier League!!!

Have faith, as I am confident with our record at Withdean, even with a few more defeats than last season, we can get a few unexpected results, particularly IF we can get more people involved in giving VOCAL support to the team.

Some of the bigger teams coming down to Withdean will be a bit of a culture shock, ie Leeds, Sunderland, West Ham etc. to name but a few.

Most of the teams in Division One don't seem to mind the "culture shock" of playing at Withdean judging by our last appearence in this division. :nono:

We had a better home record in 2001 and in 2002 than last season. Still didn't mean that Withdean became a fortress in Division One.

Teams are used to it now what ever the league, and its not the worst pitch in football league as some people seem to think
