We will pick something up. Maybe arsenal or man u at home. This is irrelevant.

It's too many matches drawn at home against rubbish that have cost us.

Score first is the answer. Just like Swansea did last night. Need to take chances against the big guns as don't often get 2nd chance.

Cannot, in all seriousness see anything from City, United or Liverpool. That leaves Arsenal and Tottenham at home. The Gunners are a massive bogey to us and have already rocked up twice to the Amex and won ( admittedly when we were in the Championship ) If a lack-lustre Spurs turn up, we might have a chance of nicking a point but I am not holding my breath.
It is a big maybe......

We all know that a lucky result or an immense performance in one game can change the whole mindset. At present the fans and probably the team expect us to lose every game given how we have defended and attacked. We need something out of the ordinary to turn this around. Stoke away currently looks like to will be another defeat but maybe just maybe we’ll be in a game where we ride our luck and come away with something. I’d take a point and a good solid performance if offered now.

Too true.

1) Points in games where we have scored first = 17 ( W5 D2 L1 )
2) Points in games where we have conceded first = 2 ( W0 D2 L10 )

Points taken off the big 6 teams this season among the bottom 10 in the PL thus far this season;

West Ham - 5 (7 games)
Watford - 5 (7)
Stoke - 4 (8)
Swansea - 4 (8)
Palace - 4 (8)
Huddersfield - 3 (6)
West Brom - 3 (7)
Bournemouth - 3 (8)
Southampton - 3 (8)
Newcastle - 1 (7)
Brighton - 0 (7)

The comparative failure to take any points off the big 6 teams in the division is really killing us when it comes to those games against our direct rivals where we've dropped points IMHO. At some point we need to turn one of them over if we're to have a hope of staying up.

What are the points tally for these 11 teams against each other?

I would rather we beat Stoke and Southampton rather than Arsenal and Spurs.

This shows that currently goal difference is irrelevant. Only once we pick up at least 1 point against the top 6 will the goal difference come into play and our hard work restricting our losses amount for anything in the table.
Still confident we will nick at least a point against one of the big 6... Patience!

It's the points we take off the bottom 10 that are the most important! ....I'm sure someone has already said this.

Not necessarily, because we can make up the points we drop against the bottom 10 by taking them off the top teams. Take Swansea, they took 3 points off Liverpool so if they lose to Brighton they'll be no worse off, whereas if Brighton drop points to Swansea they're 3 points worse off if it's only a draw. We have to win just to maintain the gap.

Agreed. But with the negativity in selection and the way we set up I'm far from confident.

Do we know when our new star striker is going to be fit to start a game?

Well, like all league tables, we'll see what it looks like at the end of the season
