Very much enjoyed the trial run of Blood On The Tracks from Radio 2, one for all you music lovers out there. Hope it gets picked up for something more.

You'd probably also enjoy the Totally Football Show with James Richardson.

I like James Richardson, and used to listen to him on the Guardian one before he Judassed them out. But I only have room for ONE PL-centric pod, and Max and Barry win out for me.

I just can't cope with Savage.

I thought he'd be unbearable as well, but I can't help it. I've warmed to him.

Golazzo is the best football podcast around at the moment. The Lazio '73 episode was just extraordinary, as was the interview with the bloke making the Maradona film.

Yes it's an Arsenal pod but The Tuesday Club is back following the Wenger announcement.

I may have misheard but I think AD was pretty scathing of the AMEX...

...after their defeat!!

Agreed, this weeks one on 'Grande Torino' was fantastic as well.

The European Football Show with Andy Brassell and Nat Coombs is the best for a comprehensive overview of the smaller leagues across Europe rather than the big five (Portugal, Poland, Greece, Turkey, Croatia etc), and they usually get local experts on those leagues on which helps.

A couple more worth a listen (sporting wise) are:

Game Of Our Lives - Focuses on the impact of football in different countries, this weeks is how India has embraced its Super League and how football can carve itself a place in such a cricket centric country.

The Blizzard - Extracts of articles published in the magazine

Thanks for this. Agree about the Blizzard. I'm a subscriber to the print copy but love the extracts as well. I'll definitely give European Football Show a blast.

Is Game of our LIves the one that they are plugging on the TFS? The one that had Werner Herzog (!) in one episode?

No worries- yep that's the one, think that was the first episode a month or so ago actually and probably the best to date to be fair!

Heads up for the new Peter Crouch pod that came out today (preview + first 3 episodes are available now). I've listened to the first one and its a cracker, lots of amusing tales and anecdotes of his time with England in particular. Looks like this series will be well worth a listen.

I was looking for this thread to give it the Munkfish Thumbs Up.

A quick shout out to the new BBC Sounds app which seems to bring together live radio, old radio and podcasts. Not sure if this will mean the BBC Radio iPlayer app will be phased out ( chaileyjem?)

It's got favourites like Flintoff, Savage and the Ping Pong Guy as well as the new That Peter Crouch Podcast.

Discoverability seems a bit clunky though - I only found the above by searching for them by name. If I didn't know they existed, I'm not sure how I'd have found them, particularly as the Categories within "Listen" don't include sport.

The Steve Bruce crime novel ones are just absolutely brilliant. Pissed myself through the whole 3 episodes of those. Laughing just thinking about them now. From memory the Paul Merson and Ian Dowie episodes were two of my favourites too. Wasn't a big fan of Josh Widdicombe until i started listening to this podcast
