Alan Davies is going mental, this is must listen stuff, even if you're sick of all things Arsenal.

"back of a fag packet maths, Walcott will have taken £60m from Arsenal" :lolol:

Fantastic news. That's the drive home sorted. 2 years of frustration :lolol:

I mustn't spoil it for you, but you'll need to slow down when talking about Spurs' full backs.
I wouldn't want you missing the end of this Albion season.

Listened to S-Town last week. Still swirling around in my head a fair bit. Absorbing stuff.

Just a small bounce to say the Ed Sheeran DID is now available.

The funny thing is I'm not THAT bothered about ol' Ed. Some tracks are good but I find most of it a bit meh.

However, the DID is well worth a listen. Seems a genuinely nice bloke, obsessed with his music and a great story. Some may view it differently but I really enjoyed it.

Not sure if this has been mentioned before but "Quickly Kevin: Will He Score" is one I've only just stumbled across. A 90's football love-in with comedians. Brilliant as a child of the 90's.

I like history podcasts (and would take suggestions) and currently am enjoying this: http://www.stitcher.com/podcast/matt-albers/the-pirate-history-podcast

It's a history of pirates but covers a lot of ground. Dense and interesting. The host has a very dry style but I quite like it.

I've just started Dan Snow's History Hit one. Been a bit hit and miss so far, and can be a bit cursory, but the Waterloo one with his Dad I thought was excellent. Genuinely passionate and enlightening.

Anyone been listening to Flintoff, Savage and the Ping Pong guy? Absolutely brilliant.

The "Savage" part was the bit putting me off but I'm willing to give it a go.

As with TV, the football season has had a serious effect of my podcasts. I think I'm down to a few Radio X ones (Ellis James and John Robbins are fantastic), The Bugle (there's almost too much nonsense for them to cover at the moment), DID.

I need comedy, documentary or sporting suggestions asap.

Comedy:-
RHLSTP is back, Richard Herring's first interview in this season is Paul Merton.
- I'm sure you're already all over Radio 4's comedy output.
- As usual No Such Thing as a Fish, stripped down QI.

Documentary:-
Not sure this is what you're after but I'm still a big fan of, The Futility Closet - 'a celebration of the thought provoking and curious'. 20 minutes on an event big or small in history, and 10 minutes of other stuff.
Damn Interesting - a sporadic 'cast, 20 minutes on one event, spookily I listened to the most recent one about a massive casino fire before I knew Grenfell Tower was still ablaze.
Presidents are People Too - Some American 'behind the scenes' history.

Sport
Quickly Kevin Will He Score - Josh Widdicombe dissects 90's football.

A lot of my other stuff is either cycling or American.

I'm slightly biased, but some of my colleagues in the University of Liverpool podcast produce amazing academic content on a broad range of topics, the most recent being an analysis of the DUP that made me reassess my views of them.

Savage allows himself to have the P ripped out of him all the time which makes for good listening. RHLSTP is back, get on that, Paul Merton is first up then Joe Thomas (Simon from the inbetweeners).

I listened to the latest Flintoff Savage and The Ping Pong Guy. Really good.

As said above, Savage get's the P ripped from him which I enjoy.

A brilliant quote from him was something along the lines of

"My mate Dave from Wrexham is a taxi driver. He's a mate for life. I can only really count my proper friends on one hand. He's one. I know if I was stuck anywhere, they are the friends I could call"

Flintoff: "That's because he's a taxi driver."
