Don't know if anyone has mentioned but listen to the first episode of the Dollop UK..... the true historical story of a Yorkshire witch retold by two US comedians. There are the usually cringeworthy bits when Americans talk about the UK but you just have to wait for the 14 eggs of the Apocalypse!!!

Episode 2 is about the Swansea City mascot, by the way.

Just listened to the start of one about Gin, gave up I'm afraid. Is that the general standard or is that one of the not so good ones ?

Rick & Tony Pop Detectives. Yes, I know... Surprisingly very funny.
Off Menu, only entertaining because it's James Acaster.

Funniest of all for my money is Gossipmongers. Joe Wilkinson and a couple of others read out pieces of unsubstantiated gossip sent in by listeners. Usually ridiculous stories from when people were kids but is usually properly laugh out loud funny.

For lovers of Scrubs (20 years ago, can you believe it?), of which I am one, is a lovely little 'rewatchable-esque' offering, with Zach Braff and Donald Faison chatting their way through episodes, full of behind the scenes tales; them being best pals "in real life" makes for a very fun and very interesting listen.

The Harrowing.

I've never thought of looking for scripted podcasts before but if this is anything to go by, it appears they're essentially radio dramas with more money and turned up to eleven. The sound design in this is awesome, with Joanne Froggatt as a policewoman on the remote western isles as something awfully bloody unsettling is going on. Done well, radio plays can be superb (see, eg., The Forsyte Saga, the Sherlock Holmes adaptations with Clive Merrison and Michael Williams) and though this as a thriller has naturally less heft, nevertheless is blindingly exciting.

I'm looking out for more of this kind of stuff.

Rhys Darby, Dan Schreiber and Buttons, attempt to explain the unexplainable from the world of cryptozoology.


Not listened yet but as a rule it's blooming funny.

Serial is really good for those that love the Making a Murderer style of real life drama. Series 1 is superb and you have to decide for yourself guilty or innocent as the plot unravels

My Time Capsule. Michael Fenton-Stevens (you'll vaguely recognise his face) has guests/friends to choose 4 things they'd like to keep, and one they'd like to get rid of.

Leads to, as well-hosted conversations tend to, some really interesting personal bits and pieces from the likes of Stephen Fry and Arthur Smith, as the chat veers off to wherever they feel like going. Middle-class, middle-aged, and no worse for that.

Honest to god it's blooming hilario.

David Tennant is back with a strong cast of interviewees.

I've picked up Comedians v The News, from BBC World Service, the first episode features Annuvab Pal, so I'll be amazed if that isn't good.

As they are 5 of my top 10, if you also don't reel away in horror at QI you ought to like No Such Thing As A Fish.

I know this is the third time saying but, for me at least, The Cryptid Factor, sits nicely with those 5.
3 friends having a laugh and telling stories.

The Tuesday Club if you want to squeeze in more old and new football.
