I've decided today, instead of my usual scrambled egg and bacon, I am going to try Poached egg.

I am going to use this method, B3TA : FEATURES : HOW TO POACH AN EGG (the one at the bottom)

But was wondering if anyone knew how long it should cook for so that the yolk is runny and the outside is soft. Also, was wondering if anyone had any ideas what I could eat it with,

Cheers

Bring a pan (frying pan is ideal) of water to simmering with just about 1" of water in it (for you youngsters, 25.4mm).

Break the eggs into the water carefully so as to keep them together.

TURN OFF THE GAS or remove the pan from the heat, and leave it alone.

Make yourself some lovely toast, and a nice cup of tea.

Wait 11 to 12 minutes, lift them out carefully with a slotted spoon, drain on a bit of kitchen towel and pop it on top of your toast. A little hot chilli sauce and hey presto, a perfect poached egg.

Cheers, I will just try that

Tea cup - small "knob" of butter - place in Microwave for about 5 seconds.
Crack egg in cup . Start Microwave - open door occasionally to avoid exploding egg.. job done

Don't think I'd like a poached egg in my tea :jester:

I tried all the 'sliding the egg into the water while it's whizzing round the pan' or 'clingfilm' ideas last time I think. Just ended up with egg that stuck to the clingfilm or a pan of water with bits of egg floating in it! lol!
I just got a poaching pan with little poached egg cups in from woolies. Hey presto! Poached eggs!
