Has Starmer mentioned the death rates in carehomes in other European countries?

Starmer really needs to get his detail right.

It depends how you count them, certainly the number of excess deaths in carehomes is way higher than the 'official' figures - as they aren't bothering to run many tests in care homes, and if there isn't a test it isn't an official covid death.

Can't say what other countries are doing in that regard.

Lies, damned lies and statistics. Our reporting of deaths in care homes is quite possibly woefully underestimated because they only count where Covid 19 is mentioned on the death certificate. Plenty of ours are strongly suspected to be Covid but not reported as such.

I’m speechless

I’m not.

Forget the dodgy stats in that graph. The punctuation and abuse of the English language alone is enough to tell you that either a child produced it (primary level or below) or someone with such low cerebral integrity that the turd you drop daily would likely record a higher score in an IQ test.

Pneumonia is a convenient cover all eventualities label.

I appreciate you like to play devil's advocate on all this, but.....

there is no need to be a medical bod to strongly suspect that these are covid related.
Statistical analysis is sufficient to draw that conclusion.

Yeah Coogan is more than a bit of a tosser.
But the Sun is only going after him in revenge for his objection to the phone hacking scandal.

When it comes to "thoroughly nasty little men" you need look no further than the owner and editorial staff of the Sun.

No.

I have not seen the stats which strongly imply that the true figures are much greater than the published ones, which I have indeed seen.

It's quite a leap, and assumptive one at that, to start interpreting them how one sees fit.

I am amazed how people, we're all to blame, embrace such stories when it suits our narrative yet poo-poo them with equal vigour when it does not.

Ah suspected, I’m sure Starmer will let that one go then.

For avoidance of any doubt as to the stats on this; 22k more deaths in care homes between March & May compared to 5yr mean.

Anyone saying this isn't Covid related should hang their heads.

Bloody Worthing!
Even by his own standards, I thought that Johnson looked a wreck yesterday at PMQs. Just imagine the stick that the Tory press would hand out to a Labour leader who didn't appear to know the location of a comb. Boris Johnson has spent his life (personal and political) 'getting away with it'. Remarkable.

I totally agree, a very scruffy man indeed.
