Hmm!

Thanks for al the suggestions. Our sink unit is on a pedestal, which means getting at the guts beneath the sink becomes a bit more... well, not very me anyway.

I might just say nuts to it, support a small local business and get a professional in. Life’s too bloody short.

I have bought some spare plugs and the brass clicker things for when I can’t undo the wastes.
Happy days when there is a cupboard ( but not with a drawer underneath :annoyed )

Thanks but I reckon I’ll let a proper plumber have the job. Simple enough for a pro but I can tell that if I tried it, I’d end up having a super sweary day followed by a super sweaty week waiting for the leak to manifest itself. If it wasn’t a pedestal job I’d do it myself but it’s always good to know your limits.
