OK I have had some time to reflect on the performance.

I can't help but wonder at just how good a coach Bielsa is. I watched the bulk of that team getting tonked in the Championship and ending up mid table under a variety of the rubbish managers that infest the lower leagues. Thomas Christiansen didn't even think Klich was worth a place in the first team. Ayling, Dallas, Philips have been transformed into players who fought toe to toe with the one of the best teams in the world, and although they were beaten they weren't disgraced. They looked like they belonged there, that they were Premier League players not Championship journeymen.

That takes a brilliant tactical mind and world class coaching methods. Steve Evans, bless him, (very critical of Bielsa's appointment because he is a "furriner") was world class only in the size of his paunch. There is a difference between managing players of the calibre of the Argentinian national side, and those of Gillingham. When you see what a truly great coach can do, with no money (the only expensive signings on show yesterday were the weaknesses as they haven't adapted to the system yet) you see how the role of manager is everything at a football club. Great managers mould whole football clubs to their personality, and Bielsa is one of those. There aren't many. Leeds United were lucky to recruit Marcelo.

The other thing I would say is what a cracking match. It was end to end, it was exciting, it had everything except good defending. I know most of you guys hate Leeds with a passion, and the hatred you feel blinds you to being objective, but surely even you can recognise that? Isn't that what football is all about ? Or should be?

The result was desperately disappointing, yes. But you have to look at the bigger picture, as the wound of the defeat heals. This was a match shown all over the world. The word on the street is that we are being looked at as a takeover candidate. Serious money might be injected into the club, we might be transformed financially. I don't think a performance like that will have harmed our chances of that.

And this is just the beginning of the season. We have more than thirty matches to look forward to.

Vamos Leeds Carajo!

Having watched both of yesterday’s game - I was impressed by Leeds, I can see them in a lot of high scoring games (and will get hammers at some point - Man City) But let’s be really fair they looked so much better than West Ham or Newcastle did.

Yes we did, a better team beat us. That is football, right? Does it never happen to Brighton, or something?

I was just saying that it was a cracking game and a pleasure to watch despite the defeat.

To be fair to many on this website, that has been acknowledged. Some of you are fair minded and lovers of the game.

Do you know the thing that is REALLY funny, mind? The two Leeds games are amongst those that you guys are looking forward to the most this season. You won't admit it, but it is the truth. That is true of other clubs too, or do you think Man U and Chelsea fans prefer playing WBA to us?

When was the last time a club got promoted to this fanfare and hype? Can anyone tell me? Leeds are a pure box office club, you know this as well as I and that is one of the many reasons you hate us so much. As I keep saying, we are what you are not, and you can never forgive us for that. :)

You keep saying how disappointed you were with the result. Either you're lying, or you were thinking you were actually going to beat Liverpool at Anfield!! Perhaps it's yet further evidence of how deluded Leeds fans are? I'm willing to bet that 99% of Albion fans would have been delighted with a performance like yours, and accepted the result for what it was - Liverpool had a stack of clear chances and could easily have buried you if they hadn't forgot about defending. I know you are new to this Premier League stuff, but if I were you I'd get over your disappointment very quickly, and just be happy that you played pretty well. I guess in the Championship if you lose to an 88th minute pen you'd be upset. But don't forget, you are in the Premier League now...

Maybe you understand a little more why we rate Bielsa so highly, though? That is how football should be played, and that is his philosophy. Always commit players to the attack.

Yes and no...

Liverpool looked hugely off the pace and still put 4 last you. If they were on form, it could’ve been 6 or 7.

Leeds did really well and were not overawed at all. I question how long you can keep up the intensity when you are likely yo be chasing more games than you dominate. It’s gonna be interesting.

Can’t speak for Chelsea or Man United fans but sorry to disappoint but the fixtures against Leeds are about on par with Sheff United, Burnley or Leicester in terms or interest just another game.

Sorry if that dents your rather inflated perception of your club

My apologies I must have misread it, because I thought you were banging on about Bielsa being such an amazing coach/tactician that get the best out of players.

All I did was to remind you that you lost !!

I’m not engaging with that pillock and that may be the way forward for everyone if we are to rid the board of his boring speeches. General point to any Leeds fans reading though; no-one here hates your football club. Most of us simply detest many of your insecure, arrogant, boring supporters. It’s simple really.

They done okay but Liverpool were awful almost as bad as they were against Watford, Leeds defence at corners is non-existent. Friendly reminder Norwich beat City and Liverpool haven't looked at it for a while. I still think they'll be in serious trouble we did better against a much more at it Liverpool side at Anfield last season.

Bielsa has worked wonders with that team though.

I thought WACCOE had a limit on the number of words per post (and probably a limit on the number of letters in a single word too - nothing longer than ..... say ... 'grunt')?

Or is that just the way it looks? Bielsa and Kidnap allowed as over-length words if balanced by an equivalent number of fvcks and cvnts................
