I agree that giving Jones the role would be a bad option, but we can't f*ck FFP. If we get a transfer embargo, that could set us back years. The cheap option is giving Nathan Jones the manager role. Just this once f*ck FFP FFS.

There was an NFL Head Coach a few years back who when asked about his assistant taking over after he was sacked said " Well, if he has all the answers, he could have bloody well told me."
Based on the formation vs Reading, Jones has the same answers as Sami.
Top 6 last 2 seasons (= potential to get back to the top of the Championship). History, look at Wolves, Portsmouth, Wigan
Biggest attendances outside Prem (= potential to get to the promised land). This has no influence on a manager, QPR get 18,000
Squad not as bad as Sami has made them look (= potential to easily improve). Very subjective and debateable
Prem-level infrastructure in place (= potential to get there). A big stadium, that's it.
Budget WILL be available in Jan (this is the first question any decent new manager will ask BTW). Why available now? Just can't see it
Overall, the 'picture' is not as bleak as you make out IMHO.
IMHO Nathan Jones should, at this stage of his career, be no higher than the water-carrier role that Charlie Oatway plays for the GusBus. How can he be anything but a yes man, clinging onto a role he's barely qualified for? Board can't afford to remain complacent beyond the end of the year. At this stage of the season it needs a veteran hack of a manager with Championship experience (and his experienced sidekick) to stand up to the board and fight for the right to sign the players to keep us up. The cheap option is no option at all.
So where were these myriad of ideas shown against Reading then?
We pulled back from being 2-0 down to gain a point, something Norwich failed to do today, by changing things around. He started with the team that did well at Wolves, which wasn't surprising.
I'm not saying give Jonah the job, but don't write him off as not having any ideas.
The more I read your posts the more it seems that you are the clubs mole to give their views and opinions on here.
Erm.....OK.Best keep Jones as manager because it doesn't matter who we bring in because we're relegated. Bloom will be pulling his hair out once we're relegated as not only will we be relegated but we're going to get relegated from division one as well. I thought with our staduim and championship footy that I had seen the last of lower league football but maybe we'll always pluchiate between the 3rd and 2nd divisions like the old days.
Tony Bloom has funked up big time and now he'll pay dearly.
There are plenty of managers who have not managed before their first job and been successful right away. What had Pep Guardiola done in management before taking over Barcalona B and getting them promoted in his first season?
For what it is worth I think Jones as assistant for another few seasons would be good before promoting him to manager would be ideal. However, he may be ready now, none of us know as we don't see him work or speak to him or see his affect on on the players. We should aim to promote from within not bring in from outside.

Got on another posters back accusing them of sniping then you reply to a dozen posts doing the exact same thing.
You mean the same leadership that created the shamles with Poyet's exit, the same leadership that lost Oscar's faith, the same leadership that appointed Hyppia, the same leadership that sold our best players and failed to replace them properly, the same leadership that struggled to sign any first choice players for the sake of brinkmanship and the same leadership that failed to have the guts to sack Hyppia ? Yep, great leadership.
