Please support the team.

During extra time tonight, a considerable amount of people were shouting abuse at Barnes and a few were also shouting abuse at Ankegren. Why do this? One could really see the crowd was getting to him from his facial expressions when the crowd was having a go at him. How do you think a player is going to play knowing his own teams supporters don't like him? These people weren't giving this abuse when he scored and they didn't give Ulloa that sort abuse when he missed chances. What exactly has Barnes done to deserve this? He put his all into the game and that is what matters. So please can people start getting behind the team?

several hundred also left on 90 minutes???

Byrne said that he could see from Barnes body language mid way through the 2nd half that he was affected by something. Was it abuse from the crowd or was it disappointment at his misses or something else?. He also said that Barnes was finding great positions and linking up well with other players. Apparently gave JFC unnecessary grief for not passing to him when he was in a great position to score. Did those of you at the match get the same impression?

Tbh I thought Barnes was good for 45 minutes, then the wheels fell off. Missed great chances, his first touch went and got hugely frustrated by the end. Like someone else said, he could have scored 5 tonight.

I find it genuinely hard to believe that anyone can abuse Barnes, he's a quality player. He had maybe 5 chances to score last night, and scored one of them. Some people on here somehow think that counts against him and makes him a terrible finisher, completely ignoring that he seems to get more chances in a match than most strikers do. I suppose that must be down to luck, rather than one of his best attributes, his positioning?

If he managed to convert the number of chances that some people on here expect him to, he certainly wouldn't be playing for this club or in this division. Which is why we desparately need to keep him. Couple of years down the line with the right coaching, if he achieves that then he will be a decent Premier League striker.

I agree with the comments on here, BUT .... when your team plays like a bunch of amateurs who have never met each other, when they can't pass to each other, when there's a visible lack of effort, when they get shown up by a team two divisions lower who have just entered the league ... well, it's bloody frustrating and embarrassing and it's not surprising that some people want yell some abuse at someone. Mine was directed at the team as a whole, rather than any individual player.

If the team can't take some abuse when they're playing like a buch of wallies, then they should up their game (I believe they are considered to be professionals at their chosen job) and man up.

The title of this thread is vital.
Behind the lads Saturday please.

Of course, but if they continue where they left off yesterday it will be difficult. No team of professional Championship football players should deliver two such abject performances in a row.

And countless people leaving with 20 minutes to go again. Good grief, it's hard to deny we have a bigger plastic fan base than we would like. Nights like last night, you should stay and suck it up, not walk out of the door.

There you go. @Goldstone in post #26 has put his hand up and identified himself as being one of those *****
