Anyone else agree?

He's still got star potential but he's nothing like the player he was a few weeks back and delivered virtually nothing yesterday. Not sure whether he's lacking confidence or whether his almost guaranteed place in the side has sapped his motivation. Either way, resting him from the starting line up, and perhaps using him as an impact sub would be a good move.

In my opinion, that's horrendous.

Crofts is suspended. Who would you start instead?

He'll say Davies, and play Murray and Dickinson upfront, not knowing Dicko is also suspended.

Daft opinion. Daft thread.

Do not agree, need our best players, and need 3 points. Yes he had a poor game yesterday but he is the most likely supply line to us scoring.
If we are going to rest him, and if Gus thinks he needs a rest, then hopefully he will do it against Torquay.

He's a young player who has played very little first team football before he came here. For the first time in his career really, he's playing regularly, but he's gone badly off the boil. So resting him for a couple of games wouldn't be such a bad idea.

So who would you play?

His cross for the goal at Swindon was magical, perfect ball into the box and if we had a Bennett on the left wing aswell, we'd be looking magnificent in my opinion.

Maybe Bennett was poor yesterday, but as you rightly say he's a young player with star potential, he needs games and we need what he gives us. He's a good player, we all know that. We should show more patience in my opinion, the effort he puts in is truly first class aswell, let's not forget that as a bonus.

I'd be tempted to give Cox a chance. OK, he's a bit of an enigma but he's got something to prove to Poyet and might just turn in one of those match winning performances we used to see him deliver under Wilkins.

If it's not working, bring Elliott on 10 minutes into the 2nd half. I just think a brief reminder that he doesn't have a guaranteed place in the side wouldn't hurt.

He played 50 games for Bury last season and 24 games the season before that (for Bury/Crewe/Wolves) so I wouldn't say he hasn't played much first team football.

Also disagree that he's gone badly off the boil. Just can't agree in the slightest, one the first names on the team sheet for me.

Jesus f***ing Christ. I've missed 3 games this season home and away, I have seen Cox play in every game he has been in. He has been just so so so bad. I mean, really bad. I think it would be a nice reminder to Cox that if he has been as poor as he has been of late, he can f*** off.

I really can't get my head around you, in a game we CAN and MUST win, you want to take off our best midfielder and arguably best player. f***ing hell, so take off Bennett, and you want to keep on Navarro, Elphick, Hart, Cox

Nope, I would have dropped Navarro weeks ago. Don't get me wrong, I like Bennett - in fact for the first time for a couple of years I can genuinely say I have a favourite player. But his end product was disappointing yesterday, as it has been now for a few weeks now. Even his corners, which were brilliant for his first couple of months with us, have gone down the pan.

All the best managers nurture their young stars and know when to give them a rest.

True, he didn't have a great game. However, if Cox was in his position for Swindon, we would not have scored, because of the lovely delivery.

One game doesn't merit a dropping. Agree on his corners though, what's happening?

It appears that you are either about seven years old, have a sub-normal IQ, learning difficulties, or perhaps a combination of these things.

I agree to a certain degree, in so much as I think that there is a danger of him becoming 'burnt out' by playing all the games. In an ideal world Davies or Cox would be sharing the right wing workload, but due to a lack of reserve fixtures they don't have any match fitness. I also don't think that in our perilous position we can afford to rest our better players.
