Just realise how much Liverpool spent on just Carroll and Downing.
Suarez bumps that up - and this was the first match in which Carroll, Gerrard and Suarez had played together after 13 months of their being at that club.

It was their HOME game.
Our fans were tremendous, astounding good support - but we were still away, Championship mid-table, and with some young players who would call such a fixture a dream come true (and mostly held their own quite well too)

Liverpool play an EXTREMELY physical game. When our lads had their back to a red and were in possession it was like they weren't even there. 'Pool just steamed through them, bowled them over, basically disregarded their right to play the ball standing on Anfield turf.

NONE of this relates to feckin' palace ffs, they mean nothing to that game. We were not there to 'show them how we fare in the cup' - they are shite and no Brighton should give a monkeys' what they have to say about anything anyway.
I've already seen enough scraping in their direction with some weird apologetic bunk. And ENOUGH about their attendences as well - one other person mentions their crowd numbers when they win a league match, they will get dogs abuse.

Onwards and upwards - and let's hope this distraction from the league at least donates some more lolly to be put to good use, and wins us a couple more fans along the way for getting this far against THREE Prem sides in the cup.

And out.
