What's being built at Falmer isn't, by any stretch, an "arena", appeallingly-catchy though the term Amex Arena might now start to be. These things matter dammit.

Because it's neither a) covered in sand, for which the word "arena" is Latin; Roman sporting venues had loads of the stuff on the floor in order to mop up lions'/Christians'/Palace fans' blood...nor is it b) a massive big indoor basketball/monster truck-type venue either, like the legendary Sports Arena in San Diego, say.

Let's smother this "arena" nonsense while it's still in its cot. edant:

It will never get named that because the club would never publicly call it that so no papers/radio/press would either. However I reckon if they hadn't already declared it the community stadium a decade ago it would probably have been called the AMEX Arena

Thats right. Its not for the greater good of the community - thats what we told the Inquiry - its just for Albion fans.

Community Centres are fine though for old people and anyone who likes Bridge though.
