It will take more than 1 training session to learn from our mistakes from yesterday, but it's a start.

I am not sure that training is the answer. I think that the best thing Adams could have done is taken the lads out on the town, got completely smashed, then had them in for a chat.

It is a team spirit that we are missing and the best why to get one of those is to spend time together in a relaxed environment, not being shouted at by the boss.

The team lost 4-1 to Scunthorpe at home, and it didnt stop them going out on the piss after, they played bad, but looked like they were having a laugh together. It doesnt mean they didnt show passion for the defeat.

They all then went to training the next day, so Im not sure if it should stop them doing the same last night.

I agree, maybe extra training isnt the answer. Give them time to themselves to reflect and they come back monday morning and start training.

Can they get better by doing more running? Will they not just burn out training and playing 7 days a week?

IMHO extra training won't do any good, it's just Micky having to be seen by the board, and maybe the fans, as trying to put things right. Maybe even seen as some form of punishment for the players. But things won't really improve until we sign a midfield general, somebody who can put his foot on the ball and distribute it intelligently. Not a single midfiled player capable of doing that in the current set-up.

There's not much point in bringing the players in for extra training when the training that they have had all week is so obviously crap.

:(

Maybe the players and the management need a heart to heart no holds barred chat. That's what got us going in 2000-2001. We thumped Torquay 6-2 the next game...

That is what I am trying to say. At the end of the day in any job if something is not right with the team, the solution needs buy-in from the whole team. A discussion about what went wrong, what the team thinks needs to be done to put things right and how they are going to do that. Clear the air, draw a line under pass performance and make a plan to resolve the issues.

It's all about the "wrong type of crosses" according to our esteemed manager. We'll probably spend the day working on the "right kind of crosses" even though we don't have a true targetman, anyone that can deliver the "right kind of crosses" or a plan B.

I don't expect anything to change anytime soon.

It also worked for Sussex CCC this year, we were so bad right the way through to the end of this years Twenty20 campaign, we had a chat, we found form in the Championship and won the Pro 40 league, and doing it missing key players

Excellent, perhaps Cox can practice crosses and improve on his average of one cross per game that beats the first man.

I remember talking to Peter Ward and him telling me how Cloughie told all the players to go off and forget about football after one bad defeat. They all went on the piss for 2 days and then came back and started again and won the next game 4 - 0 against the odds.

I think they have been called into training on the Sunday after EVERY home game have't they. It doesn't seem to make any fecking difference does it.
