sullivan sticks out a mile for me, letting a keeper go with bags of ability and replacing him with a inferior replacement just seemed daft then as it does now.

I would agree with Paul Reid, Doug Loft. possibly Sam Rents.

Doug Loft and John Sullivan were both worth keeping. I thought Loft actually played very well and looked like, given a run in a team, could become quite a classy player. Oh well. Sullivan was obviously a good keeper. Problem was he didn't fit in at time. Slade obviously wanted a new first choice, which Smith was intended to be, so whilst Sullivan was a very good back-up he was neither our best back-up or bad enough to be third choice. Obviously backfired but at the time I thought it made sense!

Good shout, has gone on to have a very good career with his old man, and is now at Derby on loan I believe, played one game for us and scored and was named man of the match if I remember against Cardiff in the Leyland daf/auto windscreen/paint pot/sherpa vans

Yes, but Adams wanted players in the middle who kicked people. Johnson didn't fit the bill  To be fair, it did work at the time

Guy Butters we could of done with him at the back this season

A little old now don't you think
