Players who turned the Albion down

Ok we all know about Kanchelskis but what other players have you heard of that decided not to come here?

Paul Jewell is about the only one I can think of off the top of my head. There must be loads of others that took one look at the place and said "no thanks". Seem to remember some Oxford/Swindon player who was very highly rated who came to watch a game at the Goldstone and walked out before the end after telling Mullery (I think) that he wasn't interested in playing for such a crap team Buggered if I can think of his name though.

Correct, I knew it was Kevin somebody just couldn't remember his surname. I do remember Mullery slagging him off roundly and making a fool of himself, for a change.

Who was it Mullery bought from Shrewsbury finished up playing left back for us when it is alleged the man he thought he was buying was Gerry Daly. He apparently asked about the No 7 which he thought was Daly's number but finished up with this other bloke can't think of his name. Left wing/midfield originally.

Are you talking Mullers 1st spell with us or 2nd?
If its his 2nd spell, it would be Darren Hughes,he came from Shrewsbury.
Gerry Daly chose Derby over us back in 1979/80.
There was also a centre back called Ken Armstrong in the 80's, who came for talks and was even in the team photo and then changed his mind, can't remember where he went though.
John Lacy chose Spurs over us in the 70's as well.

Whilst we are at it does anybody know whatever happened to Kevin McGarrigle who I thought was a brilliant prospect at centre back but was ruined by Liam Brady playing him in every position bar that one, and we slate MM for playing players out of position.
