I didn't mind it at all previously, but it's getting on my nerves now. How about they give us something to cheer about. How many times is there a pass on, but instead [insert player name] runs forward with the ball into trouble and loses the ball? It's so ponderous and predictable.
Pedro really pissed me off yesterday in second half. Everton were up the field, their attack broke down & a long pass up field found Pedro, he then took a casual stroll across the pitch & by the time he got there the Everton defense was back in place. My memory says he had another player on the wing & could have passed the ball behind the defender there then maybe got into the box. Did I imagine the other player, was he offside? But WTF, still lazy & maybe could have gone for it on his own.

Jesus wept.

I’m not worried about it. It’s just bloody irritating.

And Swansman, I’ll moan about what I want to moan about. I find your weird name change and admittance to the site under a new name irritating too and have had a moan about that. Ffs it’s a football chatroom, if we weren’t moaning it would be dull!

Anyhow, players are doing it too much and in some sort of aggressive entitled way. By all means get excited WITH the crowd, but looking like you’re moaning at them? Nah. Stop it.
I completely agree. Gesturing to the crowd is a bit tin pot and desperate IMO. It actually creates more friction between players and fans than a bond.

I was talking to an Arsenal friend about it the other day. To me it screams issues. Focus on the game. As you say, entertain the fans and they will make a noise. The players haven’t paid to see us.

If it's the passage I think it is I was annoyed with pretty much everyone else as they either ran behind or straight past him and no one actually moved in a position he could make a simple pass to.

This was the thing that angered me the most yesterday. The only time Everton broke their shape and gave us a chance to counter attack he slowed the whole game down on the half way line and allowed them to get back in formation and get everyone behind the ball.

I noticed a few players doing it yesterday too, not just Pedro. Where is this coming from?

Yep, that steamed my piss as well. One of the few occasions Everton committed a few players into our half, it broke down, but we were in too much of a collective COMA to do anything even vaguely useful. A languid stroll around the halfway line, another dreary backward pass, and - oh look! They're all back in their 10-man block.

The other moment was when Veltman and Dunk decided to play about a dozen 10-yard passes between themselves on the edge of the Everton box, getting us absolutely cuffing NOWHERE. We just move the ball around so slowly and passively, its a piece of piss to defend against.

The only teams we can beat are the ones who actually want to try to come and play football (hence the only 3 home wins this season - Man U, Man City and Spurs). Otherwise - forget it. Just sit back. Worst you'll get is a point.

We need to find a way of cracking this, pronto.

Someone's got to get the crowd going. If it isn't the players, then who should it be?

Just far enough away from LDC
Is Gully even there anymore? He surely has missed more than 5 games and I can't see he has listed his ticket or shared it with friends and family like Sammy or Sally.

Maybe he's had his ticket revoked and is now being sold on a match by match basis to a balding 35yr old with a fork

No problem when they do it after some promising attacks and the pressure is on.
i.e. ramping it up.
But turning around and doing it because the atmosphere is flat, nah.
That's on them as much as us.

It's far easier for them to change things by forcing the play, than it is for us to give them the sustained volume they "need" to start playing better.
