Thanks. Online donation done.

That's very kind. I know they'll be very grateful. Naomi House is a wonderful facility. I just wish there was no need for a place like it.

10 months ago I wouldn't have looked twice at this thread. Then my Daughter came along and the world is very different place.

The posts on this thread alone are testament to the great work that takes place at The 'Alex' ...

My daughter was at UCL last week and it coincided with Chelsea visiting the cancer unit. She had a wonderful time and my boy was totally star struck. They raised £100k for the unit that night at a Legends dinner and a raffle.
There's a Sussex family I know (Albion fans all), who are involved with fundraising for cystic fibrosis research. They were overwhelmed by the generosity of Chelsea early this year.

Quite out of the blue (so to speak), they received an invitation to the open-top bus ride around West London to celebrate the Club winning the Premiership.

'Very nice of them' was the first reaction. Only when the family got there did they discover that the invitation was for the young boy with cystic fibrosis to join Jose Mourinho and the team ON THE BUS.

Another star struck lad. And credit to CFC.

Aw that is really wonderful and things like that really make a difference to the children.

I despise Chelsea, but I really cannot fault them for their charity work. About 8 months ago three oxygen sats machines which were desperatly needed were donated to the unit my daughter is treated on, I never thought much of it, then one day noticed a tiny engravement on one of them saying "Best Wishes, All at Chelsea AFC" Turned out the players literally had a whip round after one of their children was a patient and came up with enough for three machines. I know have plenty of money but it's always nice to see them give something like that. Then they held this raffle and raised £100k and are always the first to send someone for an opening or something on the unit.

My boy had a wonderful time getting photos and autographs, he ate lunch with Lampard and hasn't stopped talking about it since. They really went beyond what they had to do, Gallas, del Horno and Lampard especially were there from about 10am til 4pm meeting everyone. Jose popped in for a few hours but my knees were like jelly so I managed a quick hello and this is my daughter... I did learn that he wanted to name his daughter the same name as mine but his wife over ruled him!

Really cannot fault them and it gives the kids such a boost to meet their 'heroes'.
