Like the sound of that but Rougier and Knight together up front?

yeah, it would work very well, Rouge the target man/battering ram, Knight the little Poacher, just like Heskey and Owen, but better.

As good as Kanchelskis was can u really see him trying at places like Oldham, Hartlepool and Rushden.

Definitely agree we need more creativity in the side but reckon he would be a liability, Rouge could do a job on a short term deal

Remeber he is Russian, they're not eactly known for being primaddonas!!

Is Kanchelskis the player who had to keep moving around to pay off his gambling debts to the Russian Mafia?

Both rather short though.

The Rouge is 6''0 and can put himself about, he is very good at getting in front of defenders.

sounds abit dodgy to me all this Kanchelskis talk, would've thought by now that if SC wanted Rougier he would've got him by bow...Reading released him ages ago. Or maybe SC was just looking around abit more first, either way he wants some height at the back according to teletext so we could see a new defender arriive.

That was certainly one of the rumours doing the rounds a few years back.

Agreed, SC strikes me as the sort of person who won't settle for second best just because the season's looming. If he wanted Rougier he would have got him ages ago. I'm pretty sure he was fairly low down his list of loan hopefuls from Reading when he came in the first place.

Yeah I heard the mafia one too and looking at his records, after leaving Man Utd in 1995 his transfer fees were just under £19m in 7 years, coincidence...... ???

I agree, and it's a bit worrying. If I was a manager of a football team playing at any level higher than say the North Norfolk Sunday League Division 5 Rougier wouldn't have been my first choice either. Or second. Or third. In fact the barrel would have been well and truly scraped before I picked up the phone and called that most willing of Blackpool seaside transportation workers.

Rougier is no bz or pw but he will put himself about a bit and if the chips in with 10 goals and with leon hitting the 20 he wants we will all forget he is a reading reject.......:dunce:
